Shocking Business Practice

Agreed purchase of car ,, agreed trade in price , paid deposit. Told us to collect Next day. We turned up to collect, They then claimed to have made a mistake on trade in value and demanded extra money. We Cancelled order. Shocking business practice. Salesman blaiming his boss etc. Absolutely pathetic way to conduct business. Their word means nothing. Integrity, Honesty and Standards are glaringly missing in this operation.Reneged then started Blaming each other and trying to force more money from an already agreed deal. Imagine some poor old people being harassed like this by pathetic second hand car sales toe rags . I suppose it is only to be expected, these people probably couldn't get a job anywhere normal because they couldn't lie and cheat to rip people off . Avoid like the plague.

Bought car and picked up 13 Feb 2017 which had ESP fault causing brake lights not to function properly, I had been driving for 2 weeks unknown to me I had faulty brake light, car had been mot 9 Feb 2017 ???, car also had scratches at front and boot door, booked car in managed to get esp fault fixed( in garage 3 days), had to then take car back to get scratches fixed only to find they had tried to polish over scratches, then find interior panel pins missing, Defo not going back as cost me fuel upto garage, no compensation, place is a complete joke, wish I had read reviews of garage before buying car, still waiting on panel pins to arrive if anyone from Arnold Clark Motherwell store is reading this

Never buy a car from here we were sold a 64 plate ford focus

took to our local garage 2 tears in tyre needs new one a new tye rod alignment all over the place corroding brakes

Arnold clark your a bunch of jokers selling dodgy cars

and trying to blame the customer

were selling our car when repairs are completed

and going to a ford dealership who unlike you jokers

look after there customers. hope you read this you know exactly who we are.

Management Are A Joke And Hide Don't Refund Money They Owe

We brought a car from there 2 months ago and got told it would have the dents and scratches sorted which was fair enough. So yes the dents were sorted but the doors were spray painted a different colour blue from the rest of the car (scratches untouched) and they used our car to pull something with, as my tow ball cover had rope strangle marks on it and a mark was on the back bumper when we picked it up. After about a tank of fuel running back and forth because apparently dent master wasn't there the 5 times we were told to keep coming back, in the end we got fed up of all the lies and called trading standards who told us to call the finance company. the finance company sent a guy out to check the car who found more things wrong with it than we did so the finace company asked what we wanted to do and we said give the car back and they said that was ok and we had to wait for a phone call from them with a settlement before we took the car back but we come off the phone and arnold clark are on the phone telling us just to take the car back!! HOWEVER i queried this not only because the finace company said they would call us back but because if we did that we would NOT OF GOT OUR MONEY BACK. AS WE AREN'T AS STUPID AS ARNOLD CLARK THOUGHT WE CONTACTED OUR FINANCE COMPANY AND THEY SAID DON'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE YOUR SETTLEMENT!! ARNOLD CLARK MANAGEMENT ARE SNEAKY LYING BA......D'S WHO EVEN BROKE THEIR SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT IN THE END BY NOT PAYING WHAT THEY AGREED TO, LUCKILY AGAIN FINANCE SORTED THIS OUT (after they escalated arnold clarks breach of contract to the manager level) AS WE WALKED OUT AND KEPT THE CAR UNTIL WE GOT WHAT WE WERE OWED AND AGREED IN THE SETTLEMENT!! SO PLEASE PEOPLE DON'T FALL FOR THE BULL AND GO TO A REAL GARAGE WE ARE TAKING THIS FURTHER BECAUSE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ROBBED OR TOOK FOR A MUG. I could go on with everything that happened but I'm sure you can get the idea by now!!

Bought a car takes it out and find steering not straight bald tyre go back to get fixed salesman walks straight past me. Gets the finance manager out shows him tyre he was like there is still a few miles left on it. Excuse me the tyre is bald steering alignment off it should not have been given to me like this. So know i have to take it back for repairs total joke car should not be on the road stay away from arnold clark money over your safety that's all that matters.

I can honestly say I have never been treated so bad in my life the sales agents at East Kilbride are a disgrace and the managers are just as bad very poor experience be warned look else where !!!

Should Have Seen This Coming

when i bought my car last year, the young salesman insisted on me taking out the cover that would means i wouldnt have to pay for my mot test the following year. (insisting all parts required would be covered)

My car was in for its mot yesterday, and they came back to me with a list as long as my arm with faults, saying it would be over £800. i explained my brother in law did a pre test at his garage and i had a list of 4 small faults that it would fail on. When i told the lady this, she unbvelievably agreed and said the list she gave me was work they advised i should get done and it would cost me £208 for the car to pass the test. if i hadnt queried that, i beleive they would have happily charged me the full £800.

i agreed for them to do the work for £208 to pass the test. i then got a phone call to say they had since found another fault with my brakes and it would cost me another £107 to get fixed. i said to leave it and i would get someone else to fix it, but they said it would be unsafe to drive. i paid the full amount and have since found out i could get the same work carried out at my local garage for under £120 + vat. They charged me £19 to fit a light bulb (£5 at my local garage) £128 for a tyre (£40 at my local garage), the list goes on. How did i not see this coming ? sold a car with problems, enticed in to mot it with the free mot test. Go there at your own risk. i have bought 4 or 5 cars from arnold clark, but i have never had the mot package before. they have lost a customer for sure

Awful, Awful And Awful

Bought a car from Arnold clark recently and driving it home I decided to put the windscreen wipers on and a scratch mark appeared due to their being no blade in it - surely they would see that when doing the service so we had to take it back in to get fixed weeks later. Also that weekend we noticed that there was a dent in the drivers side above the back wheel and also a dent on the passengers door - not there when we bought it but there was no marks so it couldn't have been a car etc and also the position nobody could have marked it. We phoned to get it put in and the sales consultant said he would phone the guys to repair it and would phone me back. He didn't call back and I phoned back on Saturday for him to tell me the guys were on holiday. when we took it in they said they would only fix one dent although from the very beginning we said there was 2 !! After speaking to the manager they said they would fix the two of them however when we got back to pick the car up they had only fixed the one due to the equipment and they made out as if we had done the dents ! My point is if they missed the windscreen wiper during the service then whose to say they didn't miss that or either that or they have painted over it and sorted it and that's it just coming through. I definitely wouldn't buy a car from Arnold Clark again because of this !!

Not Impressed

Hired a car from Motherwell last month, the car itself was great ad on return after signing all the forms the lady checked the car and the petrol, then thanked me for my hire.

Today - over two weeks latter, Arnold Clark have helped themselves to more of my money for petrol?? On phoning today I was told they had tried to contact me, obviously couldn't leave a message if this is the case, which it clearly wasn't and I was told the car was short of petrol - it wasn't and all that was said after the checks on the car was thank you.

After being told 'I don't know what you expect me to do." I hung up the phone, ill not be back for sure.

1st Class Service

Just bought a Chevrolet Aveo today. I would just like thank the salesman Mark Mcgonnell for the 1st class service that he provided. He just couldn't do enough for me and my wife throughout. He got us a cracking deal and was helpful and patient with any questions or concerns that we had. He didn't have that pushy salesman attitude that most of us detest. Very refreshing.
