Brought jaguar xj. Within 30 days of purchasing the car I found that 3 of my 4 alloys had multiple cracks and 1 had also had a previous repair. Told him and was told to come down the following week. He had a quick look around the car and said come back the first week of the new year and he would source me new wheels and a light that was also cracked and was letting water in. So me being stupid I said okay. January comes around and all he does is constantly mess me around. After constantly calling him he said he would offer £350 towards the car when the actual cost of replacing the wheels and light would be £1000 at least. He kept trying to say it would of been picked up on the mot but obviously wasn't. Either way the faults was found within 30 days of purchase so wheels and light was obviously faulty before I got the car.

1wheel had 5 cracks in and the other 2 faulty wheels had several. The light was letting water in for a while as it had gone green on the inside so obviously was broken for a while. By law I'm entitled to have the items replaced. Been to CAB and they also said the same after hours of doing research and going through the law. But he still claims they are classed as wear and tear items even though the law says the opposite. I took the £350 to put towards the costs of my solicitor to take him to court because if I didn't then I would be out of pocket massively. I have all the photos which clearly prove my position and my solicitor says its open and shut case. Don't let him fool you! Any non wear and tear items are covered by the sale of goods act but apparently the law doesn't apply to him.

I bought a Mazda MX5 from Hillfield Motors about 8 months ago. I was shown other cars on the forcourt and test drove most of them. The sales team were very helpful and friendly and in no way pushy, which was nice as I usually find most garages seemed to be desperate to sell you a car. It was nice to be able walk away and have a good think about if I wanted the car. No pressure. I would buy a car from there again and would recomend to others.
