Disappointed And Never Returning
For over a decade I took my VW back to Murray’s for services, having bought it there.
In recent years their service had gone downhill but I’d hoped it would improve.
The final straw was when a hydraulic arm in my boot lid leaked and they wanted to charge me over a £100 to “diagnose” the problem before even considering the cost of the part and work to replace it. What diagnostic is needed for a part that you can see needs replacing!?
I am now going to another local excellent garage but there were more horrrible surprises from Murray’s.
My car developed an oil leak - my new garage found out that the problem had been caused by “someone” not putting back some screws in the engine bay, leading to some increased movement and friction and then a leak. That can only have been Murray’s.
And now I’ve had my first full service at my new garage and they are disgusted to see the state of all of my filters and suspension. AVOID MURRAY’S!

Problematic And Untrustworthy With Terrible Customer Service
I'm not normally one to publicly complain, so this is a rare type of review for me, but I have never had such a poor experience with a car dealership before.
Murray Skoda replaced my tyres without informing me that the new tyres were of poor quality and safety, and not suitable for me. Service manager, was unhelpful and rude in dealing with me, insisting I was untru about what I was told, even though he wasn't there and so couldn't know. Escalating the issue to managing director, was no help as he just went along with what he was told by the service manager who wasn't present at the time.
Managing Director was unwilling to help, but also unable to detail why he believes his company aren't responsible for the problem they have caused me...a disappointing lack of clarity and customer care from the top! The lack of willingness to put right a problem they have caused has cost me an unnecessary £220, as I replaced the tyres myself with much safer ones a few days later.
A dealership representing a brand like Skoda should be willing to admit when a mistake is made and put it right for the customer. If they had done this there would have only been minor inconvenience. Instead their lack of accountability and honesty in refusing to put the issue right has wasted so much of my time, has cost me an entire set of new tyres unnecessarily, and has set Murray Skoda as a poor representative of the values of the Skoda brand. The website makes a point of being family owned, and on this occasion they have definitely been covering each other's backs rather than looking out for the customer!
Nice Car, Friendly Service, Poor Sales Practice
I purchased a new car from them about a year ago.
Positives: friendly customer service, long test drive. Went in for first service and was kept updated, nice waiting area with wifi and a drinks machine. Service plan for only £149 and deposit contribution.
Negatives: lifeshine autoglym was added to my quote and not given as an option, I was not talked through any of the potential add ons such as electric folding wing mirrors (would've been cheaper and more beneficial than lifeshine).
If you've visiting and buy a car, don't let them add lifeshine without asking you and if you want my advice then don't take it as it's done nothing for my car and I might as well have thrown the money down a drain. Make sure they talk you through add ons.
Final point, use car wow to get a money off deal. I did this and then stupidly forgot to give the ref number, I would've saved nearly 2k but hadn't understood how car wow worked til it was too late!

My wife and i have had dealings with Murray Plymouth for several years. This is as the result of servicing of a lease car to the the purchase of a new car two years ago.As a result of their professionalism i decided to purchase a car from them as my wife had always experienced excellent service.The experience i received lived up to expectations and he was excellent throughout.He did not push us and gave us plenty of time. Once we had agreed the sale he kept us up to date throughout the process,even sending us a video.The day of collection was made special and we have had follow up calls to ensure we are happy and confident with the vehicle so thank you.

Our New Polo Gti
After popping into Murray VW in Plymouth to have a browse the wife quickly fell in love with a Polo GTI. From our arrival we were made welcome offered a drink, whilst we waited for a sales person.
After meeting the person I dealt with we explained what we were looking for & he explained thoroughly our best options & Prices. We got our deal & bought the Polo. We completed paperwork & arranged to pick the car up on Xmas eve. The other person I dealt with was excellent in advice & knowledge of what we needed to know and a great help sorting out our private plate issues. We picked the car up today & are very happy with everything & everybody involved @ Murray VW in plymouth. The car is a beauty & would like to thank the people I dealt with for their impeccable customer service & would recommend a visit if you are looking for a New or Used car.

Great Place To Buy A New Volkeswagen
Having recently given up work & handed back my Company car I have spent the last four weeks scouring Autotrader for the best VW Main Dealer offers in the UK. I wanted the newest car I could get but at the best price, needless to say once I came into contact with Murray Volkswagen of Plymouth I had the best of everything, great price, fantastic Customer Service, everything they promised was delivered in a truly professional way. I travelled a long way to buy this car, but it was well worth it and it has been the most enjoyable car purchase I have ever had. I would thoroughly recommend this dealer to any of my friends & family, and would love to buy from them again. The car is also fantastic..........!!!!!

A young salesman dealt with my car and was very and polite and took a genuine interest in any questions I had regarding the sale. Also the salesman cared about how my experience went and appreciated that I had travelled a long way to purchase the car. I was also looked after in terms of having tea and coffee made for me. Forget Any Paint Warranty
i found the car buying experience relatively good and the after service was fine as well. My only complaint was the Skoda branch in Plymouth were totally useless when it came to dealing with a paint warranty issue on my Fabia. I eventually
