Dead Swanky, Letchworth

I had the person I dealt with colour my hair and she was brilliant. She took the time to go through the colour chart with me and advised me about a new style which i will be going back for.Loved my new colours and will definitley go back to her.

I have been going to Dead Swanky for about 10 years. I have Jennie the manageress who unlike the previous review would suggest, is absolutely brilliant. As a journalist working for a top news channel, appearance is all important. The staff are inventive, helpful, creative and I am always delighted with the end result. I have recommended a lot of people to this salon after they asked me where I have my hair done. I really can't praise it highly enough and if you want a haircut or colour that is straight out of a top London hairdressers, then look no further.

The manager Jennie at this salon is extremely rude and unhelpful. when this salon made an error with my appointment they made no attempt to help resolve the issue instead were very rude and insulting. I would not recommend!!!

I went to this salon as I had just moved to the area, the first time Just for a cut! Wow I loved it the cut, style was brill. And all the staff very nice and chatty. I went in again just before Xmas to get colour and cut again 5 stars!!! Couldn't fault them at all I love going there getting my hair done. ESP myhairdresser who I always get to cut my hair as I know she knows how I like it

i was misold a product on the basis that it nourished the hair well but it made my hair go pourous and dry. I took it back to complain and the manager was rude and aggressive and would not provide a refund. I found the customer service awful and was left with an expensive product which is no good.

I gave it 4 stars as I've also had a disappointing experience with Jessica and the wash is rough as the other reviewer describes. I just stick to Kelly and that's a 5 star service and a quality cut and for that sake I actually tell the wash person to be gentle with my hair. Kelly cuts hair imaginatively, remembers her clients and their wishes well and does not chat your head off, I can highly recommend her. There are some hair salons that give me a headache every time I use them, it's normally a combination of tension, noise, hairspray fumes and airconditioning blowing cold air on your wet hair. I never have a headache when I go to Dead Swanky.

Disappointing. The only thing that was said to me for the whole 40minutes was Happy Birthday, as I was going to get my hair done for the night out. Their shampoo and hard, almost painful massaging technique stripped my dark brown hair down a shade. So I came in with dark brown hair and left with medium brown hair, not the plan! Jessica just went straight ahead and starting cutting after a brief description of what I was having done rather than a discussion. She didn't ask me how short I wanted my layers, sliced into my fringe without even asking how short I wanted that. She burnt my scalp with the hair dryer and to be honest the whole shop had a very bitchy atmosphere. I would much rather pay the extra £12 and go to Greys in Hitchin, where I know they are all lovely, and thats exactly what I'll do. Wouldn't return and definatley wouldn't recommend.

Dead Swanky - Dead Brilliant

As a 39 year old mother of two who tends to err on the more conservative side of "funkiness", I was absolutely delighted with my recent visit to Dead Swanky in Letchworth. I went for a cut and full highlights and the result was absolutely A1. The stylist, Jennie, is lovely and totally understood what I wanted to acheive. The Colourist, Sian, is an absolute diamond who brought my dark brown (albeit highlighted hair) to an authentic highlighted blonde colour. The prices are middle range however, if you want a job done properly by friendly and professional staff, it really is worth the visit to this salon.
