I can't believe this company is still operating. Paid for a car almost 2 years ago for pick up at Alicante Airport. Arrived at the designated desk at the airport with my family only to be advised that Decode Car Hire no longer had a contract with them and had not received any payments from Decode for over 6 months. The only way we could get a car was to pay for another one at the desk which we did. When I eventually made contact with Decode, they advised that they would refund the payment made but this never happened despite numerous correspondence. I would guess this company is also operating under a new name by now, so be careful.

Booked a car for collection at Faro airrport, was informed about 5 hours before I flew out of country that request had been cancelled as they did not have my choice of car available. Too late to choose another car with them, however, they still took my money yet I had no car. They have ignored my emails and are not available by phone. 2 letters sent to their advertised address on the web site came back "Unknown at this address". Trading standards cannot help due to budget limitations, Financial ombudsman cannot help so I have written to Rip Off Britain.I urge others to do the same if they are dissappointed, this sham company could do with some TV exposure. They are still trading and cheating people out of hard earned cash it is disgusting. AVOID AVOID AVOID and report them. Wish I had read their reviews before booking, this is something I now do before booking anything!!!

I have cbeen had by the above companies I paid 455 Euros last October and when I arrived in Kafalonia I was faced with a demand for 640 Euros what a start to the Holiday my credit card company have refunded my original cost but not the extra as they cannot establish a link between the two companies i.e. shared directors etc. they have said if I can they will pay the difference. If anyone out there has anything on them I would be pleased to hear from you.

Paid Decode in full back in the UK for 2 cars for 2 weeks car hire however they did not pass the payment on to Elit car hire so we had to pay again once we arrived at Antalya Airport.

No reponse to e-mails another scam company.

Traveled in Berlin. Too small choice of cars. Not the best website. Condition of the car was good, but the service ruined everything.

Booked a car for 2wks at Faro airport,received an e-mail the next day after they took the rental money,stating they had no cars available and to this day have not received a refund,STAY AWAY,THEY ARE FRAUDSTERS!!!

I was another victim of these fraudsters Decode/Suncar and had to pay twice at Munich airport. I am £348 out of pocket and I am still trying to recover this money. Because my credit was not valid for the date I wanted to collect the car I had to pay by debit card and it is too late to recover this.

Decode car hire are an absolute disgrace - I didn't want to give them one star but had to ......ugh! I lost count of the number of emails I sent them to try an obtain a refund. I too had to pay again at the airport because Decode had not paid the bill even though they had taken my money 3 months before my rental. Luckily I was eventually able to get a refund from my Nationwide credit card. I cancelled my credit card after that too just in case Decode fancied another dabble at my card. Customer service is non existant and they are fraudsters. I wish I had thought to look at reviews of this company before I ever got involved with them. Lesson well and truly learnt!

We had exactly the same as all of the others. We paid for our Car hire in the Uk, however once we got to Malaga we were told that the car had not been paid for! I have a small baby and it was a Sunday so no one was open to complain ....we had no choice but to pay again if we wanted a car! Luckily we paid by credit card and were able to get the credit card company to reclaim the money! We tried first however could not get hold of anyone at Decode! We thought they may have gone Bankrupt but seems they have be doing the same to loads of others!! Please do not use this company!!!!!

We booked car hire from Alicante for 2 weeks at the cost of almost £400. On arrival we were told the payment had not been wired to the local agent so we had to pay again. Decode promised us in several E-mails a refund of the original amount but have never delivered! We have pursued the claim through the small claims court but they have never responded to any legal documents. Judgement has been made against them which they have also ignored. Does anyone know the actual real address of Decode so that we can now send in baliffs or start legal proceedings to wind up the company of these utter fraudsters?!!
