Charles Rooney Car Sales, Glasgow

Bought honda civic drove home next morning battery flat bought new one as it was more expensive to travel to garage. 2 weeks later brake pads scraping took to local garage they were worn down to the metal phoned charles rooney told me he didnt trust other garages told me to drive 40 miles with no brakes very rude obnoxious and patronising wonder he would have talked to a male the same. Anyway had brake pads at my cost replaced hopefully this will be all not a good start. Salesman very helpful if not for him I doubt they would get many sales you are wasted here .

I have bought a total of four cars from this dealer and have never had a problem.iv found Charles very friendly.His staff can't do enough to put you at ease and are very helpful.

Would give no stars if it were an option. Unprofessional unpleasant and patronising. Didn't trust their own mechanic to replace the clutch that needed replacing as they didn't notice it was worn out!!! (Blamed my driving on the slipping clutch). My own local mechanics did an excellent job and It was worth paying the money so that I never had to be anywhere near That place again.

I bought car , the same problems from the first day, presents documents issued for the part that is fixed and you do not really fixed ... I would definitely not recommend

Charles is an aging , pleasant at first veteran salesman who will effectively sell you a time bomb with a smile ...... do not trust ... not recommended .... and do not buy from ..... thanks for the blown gasket charles x

this man is lucky to be in business. I will never ever go back here again .. I bought a mini from him and found a fault on he day of collection. I had my son with me and I was sworn at multiple times from Charles rooney himself. if he treats all his customers like this its abs shocking. I had to walk away and let my partner deal with this man as he was so abusive. I honestly didn't know what to do. he tried throwing money at us to get the problem sorted. we also waited for ages for him to come back and discuss what to do next. we did take the car as it had already been paid for. stupid me!!! had a few problems which we were not told about and then told to f off and never come back. take the f in car and get to f. lovely eh. I would avoid this man and his cars.

I was so very wary trying to find a car garage that wasn't going to rip me off. I could not find decent reviews on anywhere so decided just to take a chance on this place since it was close by and they had several cars I was interested in. At the time of test driving, the sales guy told me about little issues like the seat height adjustment sticking sometimes. A couple of days after purchase, the car went dead while I was reversing in to a space. I phoned the garage and they told me to bring it straight in. They couldn't find anything major and so narrowed it down to the battery, which they replaced. I got the car back the same day and I haven't had a problem since. I put the car in for a service with a mechanic my partner knows today while the car is still under warranty and he told me the car is in great shape for it's age. So overall I'm very happy! Genuinely cannot complain about this place.

I bought a peugeot 307 hdi from them at xmas for £3995! 1 month after buying I broke down and had to be recovered. I took the car straight to an independant garage who gave it a diagnostic test. The test uncovered the fact that there were many major parts of the engine 'missing'. These were parts that would have to have been removed by a mechanic, which if faulty, would stop the engine from running, BUT if removed the car will operate for a few months before finaly causing extensive problems. The price to replace the parts inc labour would have cost in xs of £2500.

When i took the car back to the so called 'dealers', he told me 'we dont do refunds' and i was 'over the 30day warrenty'. After i educated this cowboy of my rights and the fact i had contacted the office of fair trading, he quickly gave me my money back to get me out of his way!!!

1 month later, the car is back on the forcourt at the same price, I would wager my mortgage that the repairs havnt been done!
