Disgusting Company
Dreadful company. Didn't contact me to settle a balance then have issued a Default notice with no warning. After being on hold for half an hour to speak to a person they said there is nothing they can do to remove it, though it shouldn't have been registered, then put the phone down on me when I wanted to escalate the matter. Avoid them

Scottish Power. Useless!!
Seemingly completely unable to even work out how to sort a bill out. When it comes to trying to close an account evasive and unhelpful to the point of dishonesty.
Have any dealings with this company at risk of both your time and money.

Uncontactable
Cannot reset a password automatically , now been waiting over 20 days and still no access to account. They do not answer the phone, left ringing for 36 minutes listening to Ed SHeran (ARGH). The live chat option on the web site closes when selected...email after email and no password offered. Cancelling direct debit to get attention.
Avoid and take your customer elsewhere as they offer absolutely no customer service.

Incompetence, Misinformation And Impossible To Contact
I closed my Scottish Power account over 2 months ago due to moving out of rented accommodation. I gave accurate meter readings on the day of moving out and issued them to SP who acknowledged receipt. I then received a final bill online, based on estimated amounts. I contacted SP via email to ask for a full refund of my credit balance and to check that they had received my final meter readings. After no response I emailed and called again to be told that this had been sent out to me in the post. It didn't arrive so I called again. And again. Each time I was told something different. They said a) it had been sent as a cheque b) it had been sent via BACs to my account c) it would be sent via cheque/BACs within 10 working days. I received an amount of £5.66 compensation into my account but no full refund. I have had to call again twice this week to be told they will look into it and call me back within 10 working days.
I just want my money back. It is almost impossible to get through on the phones, I have been hung up on twice, and each member of customer service told me a different thing each time. I will NEVER open an account with Scottish Power again. Avoid like the plague!
Edit: Scottish Power called me back around half an hour after posting this review to say that they had resolved and refunded the credit on the account. I am almost certain that this is because I informed them that I had reported the incident to the energy ombudsman. Apparently my credit refund hadn't been released because the electrical bill hadn't been generated for some unknown reason. They couldn't tell me why. It is abismal that it took so long for someone to investigate and tell me this. I was offered £10 compensation on top of the previous £5.66 for the inconvenience. For the amount of time I spent trying to resolve this I don't feel that this touches the surface of the compensation I deserve. Still won't be going back to SP in the future.

It Is A Genuine Novelty Being Treated As An Adult!
After a horrendous experience with the bumbling, patronising, inept EDF, I chose Scottish Power when I moved into the new house. Partly because of good online reviews and partly because the previous tenant had used them, reportedly with no problems. My online account was set up with absolutely no fuss. A condition of my tariff is that I self read every month. As it was with EDF, who ignored my meter readings, which resulted in an unexpected large bill when i left. The figures are used to predict my Scottish Power monthly bill and set the correct Direct Debit sum. I have been considerably in credit a few times in the last few years. The overpayment has been repaid into my account immediately and without fuss. The main reason why I am so content with Scottish Power is that on the rare occasions that I have to speak with them on the telephone, they speak to me as if I am an adult. They are courteous and appear grateful for my continued business. With both electricity and gas prices being pretty much the same across the board, the only way that a company can stand out in this market is their customer service. I cannot fault Scottish Power on this. I would recommend them to all.

I Was Happy With Scottish Power As My Energy Provi
I was happy with Scottish Power as my energy provider until last November when I changed to a company offering a better deal at the time. It has taken 10 months and my final bill from Scottish Power has still not been settled. They were very quick to take money from my account having provided me with an inflated estimated bill, but ever since I tried to correct the reading and claim back the overpayment they have gone quiet! When I have phoned them, they say that they are sorting it and will put a cheque in the post to me. It still hasn't arrived.
I emailed them, but they have not replied even though the automated reply service said there were dealing with my query.
I would never recommend Scottish Power.

I Signed Up To Sainsburys Dual Fuel Capped Deal In
I signed up to Sainsburys dual fuel capped deal in 2006 and was pleasantly surprised with the service and fairly cheap bills. In 2008 Scottish Power seemed to take over the supply/service and from that point it has been nothing but pain and an irritant for me.Bills steadily increased to now ridiculous amounts. In my experience, Customer Service advisors have a habit of putting me on hold when I ask deep and meaningful questions and then either seem to cut me off or re-route me to somewhere else. Not pleased with Scottish Power at all!

I Bought A Wide Screen Sony 100hz Tv From Scottis
I bought a wide screen Sony 100Hz TV from Scottish Power and paid over £150 for a 5 year warranty. I too had the money back after 5 years offer sold to me and at no point was I told it would be with a different company that has now gone bust. I bought the TV from Scottish Power because I thought they were a company you could trust.
