What A Difference In 12 Months. A Year Ago I Would
what a difference in 12 months. a year ago i wouldnt have set foot in there as the atmosphere was awful, beer not very nice and just generally an unenjoyable night. well..... a few months ago i was out with some friends and they forced me to go there for'the big differance''. the place didnt used to be busy, half full max. when i walked in, the place was the busiest i think i have seen it, and the atmosphere was amazing with people singing. i spoke to the dj (his name is lee) and had a joyful conversation with him. he was bouncing round the dj box like he had 15 cans of redbull but i have never seen a dj get a reaction from a crowd like that. The choice of music is also very good with a range from rock 'n' roll classic to upto date chart music. it wasnt until this point i realised the beer was of a better standard and quite reasonably priced. since this point i have made a point of going in every saturday night, as it just keeps getting better and better. the staff are very friendly, always have a smile and the service is fast. WELL DONE CHICAGOS for turning your venue round to making it by far the best in town. very very highly recommended!!!!
what a way to waste a night, chicagos in basildon is THE place to go to see the un-educated. how they can have so many thick and rude people employed in one place is amazing. the bar staff seemed to think it was okay to have a lobotomy as part of the uniform, although, i`m not too sure if the fact they cold`nt see me standing at the bar directly in front of them was, due to cataracts , or just plain rudeness, i do`nt really give one. so if you`re looking for a great night out, give this place as wide a berth as you possibly can, you will not regret it.

You Really Are Better Off Going To The Burger Van
you really are better off going to the burger van near b&q. you'll get better service, better quality food and be warmer. the staff were okay though could do with some training to help them try to hide the understandable contempt for anyone who thinks the food is fit for humans.
fake food
fake smiles
it was a mistake to go there, one that will never be repeated.

I Have Never Eaten At A Restaurant Until Now That
I have never eaten at a restaurant until now that has made me feel physically ill. Fish and chips came with peas that seemed undercooked, the fish fillets looked like they were left over from last night and reheated till it was dark brown, and the texture of some of the fillets were rock hard. The potatoes in the roast of the day were overcooked also and the whole meal looked like a ready meal from a supermarket. At the end of the meal I was overcome by the unidentifiable odour (stench) around the seated area and had to leave quickly. When it was time to pay I could find no staff available and it was tempting to leave as the meal and experience were not worth it. The only good point was the humour of the waiter, but I must wonder if he was joking when he said that fish and chips was 'an excellent choice.'

We Were Able To Keep Our Table All Night At Chicag
We were able to keep our table all night at Chicago Rock Cafe in Stevenage, where we had drinks delivered to our table rather than having to wait at the bar.

My Local Chicago's Is In King's Lynn And I've Been
My local Chicago's is in King's Lynn and I've been there twice, one of those times was for lunch. Never again!
To be fair, the place looks ok, pretty modern and well furnished, but all this is taken away by the stink of the place! Rumour has it that the sewage pipes run under the bar, and really, I can believe it! The place was empty at around 3pm on a Saturday, so that should have been another clue!
After that, I guess I was an idiot to order food, but never the less, I did! The bar staff were so unhelpful and moody. I didn't see one crack a smile the whole time I was there.
The food came after a long wait and it was cold. Not just mine but my two friends as well. One of my friends sent his back, as the order was wrong, as well as being barely luke warm. It returned about 20 minutes later, still cold.
I had ordered roast chicken with chips and salad. The chicken was tough, dry and tasteless. Not only that but it looked very pink in some places. The chips were soggy and the salad was just pathetic!
I can't really remember how much we paid for the meal, something around £7 each, which is a reasonable price for that kind of place, but I would have expected much better food and service.
