The Worst Company Ever , Money Waste

Avoid this liar company they are misleading clients sending estimating messages but nobody is way way

They are the worst company ever . Never use RAC again . They don’t care about clients that it’s on the road on a cold wind . They are. Very disrespectful . Horrible service and make us wait more then 8 hours for a center London recovery . Very disappointed , my company itself we canceled 18 membership . And never ever ever we use then again

Use any other alternative company but never use RAC

Rubbish Customer Service

Trying to renew car insurance - their contact centre keeps hanging up on me! taking my business elsewhere. RAC Car Insurance are RUBBISH - AVOID!!

Change car which was half the value of the other car due to shielding and lockdown and struggling financially and they wanted 70 a month while before I was paying 17 a month and I am 54 clean license and never claimed them hammer me for cancellation never again very disappointed steer clear

Charges To Make Changes

Not the young ladies fault but I when I mentioned I’d be doing less miles and am now unemployed she said that would cost a further £9 + £25 admin fee. That is unacceptable especially when some insurance companies are refunding some of the costs due to coronavirus. Why would there be a charge for less miles. To then be told £25 admin fee in theses times and when I’d just lost my job.

Looks like I’ll be shopping around at renewal time.

So I left the mileage at the original level and she did at least cancel the admin fee

Puncture

I was visiting my husband in hospital, he'd had an operation the day before for lung cancer, I stayed all day until 8pm when I went down to car park I found I had a puncture. I phoned the RAC they said Three to Five hours. Told my husband he came out of his hospital bed and changed the tyre. I,m 71 RAC a joke.

"I had to cancel my insurance because…

"I had to cancel my insurance because they put up the cost due to incorrect information held by them and the underwriters. The insurance had not even started but they charged me £25 for cancelling. I have tried to get this money back but they never answer the emails and the people on the phone are useless. Big company must need my £25. Promised to reply to my email on a certain date and haven't, and that was the email to the top of the business.

There for the motorist!!!!!!

Rac Is Not A Good Car Insurance Provider - Avoid !!!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately I did not have to make a claim as it seems this is a challenging process from reading some other reviews here.

All i wanted to do was cancel my insurance as I returned the contract hire car and they charged me £55 cancellation and another £10 for something else - never heard of such a charge before, insurance companies make their money via up front commissions which they add to the total cost of insurance for the year - so this charge just leaves me with a feeling of being mugged - no more RAC insurance or breakdown cover ever again, goodbye & so long !!!

Absolutely Awful

Once I had ended my insurance with this company I requested my no claims bonus. No contact at all for a week so I chased them. After £20 worth of calls they said I had made a claim a few months ago. I said I did not. It turns out a taxi driver had slightly bumped me and I told them in the event of him making a claim I had phots of the incident showing I was not to blame but did not want to make a claim. They have told me this stands for 6 months as a claim on my insurance. Steer clear bloody awful company.

Waste Of Time

Filled in details online. Obtained quote of £377.08. Tried to pay having put in purchase date - and suddenly 'the site was closed due to maintenance'. Rang up - 10 minutes listening to drivel before I got to an adviser. Lots more sales chat - finally confirmed the quote of £377.08 and eventually go to the payment part - and I was then told. 'The price is £553 - OK?'

Hang on - what ... No explanation for the huge price hike, just told 'That's now the price...' No explanation for not honoring the quote which on screen I was told was valid for today. He just kept saying - 'That's the price - OK? No - that's really NOT OK! Disgraceful! Will not buy any RAC products from now on.

dont claim when insured with rac you just get moved from pillar to post ask for the underwriter and deal with them rac and it's agent are out to make money from you if your injured or a credit agreement for a hire car no wonder the premiums are going up never insure with them
