Bahamas Hotel Kos

This is a nice place to stay. The whole family are very nice and the sons Billy and Costas make you a part of their family for the period you are there. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms kept extremely clean. Mary behind the bar is such a friendly and nice lady.

It is pretty central for seeing the whole island and it is just a stroll away from the harbour one way or the beach the other. Try to get transport and see the whole island and don't just stay around one area, there is a lot of pretty areas to visit or historical sites, if you are interested. Don't pay for the trips with the tour operator, pay for them privately and if you take a three island Gulet trip ensure you choose the Katerina run by George and family, it is a great day out and in 2007 it was only 20 Euros for the full day, including lunch, which is well worth it. Try to make the Greek night at Fantasia (Zia) and also the Greek night in the hotel, great time but make sure you join in!

I have seen one or two adverse comments but to be honest, you are always going to get those, who in actual fact are used to nothing but expect everything and do nothing but complain.

As a result of what we had read on the web, four of us (all seniors) ventured on this our second trip to the beautiful island of Kos and the Bahamas Hotel. We were a little apprehensive about whether or not our age might be against us, as many of the reviews featured the 'younger' element! No worries there, a generous mix of age groups proved very satisfactory. In fact just about EVERYTHING in this hotel was more than satisfactory. The family, Papa George, Mama, sons Billy & Costas, along with their staff....Mary, Katherine really did go out of their way to be helpful.

Entertainment ranged from Quiz night, Bingo night, Barbeque night, Karaoke, something going on almost every evening. Add to this the superb TV connections with Sky etc. and entertainment was available for us all.

The position of the hotel is superb, especially if you have a Poolside room. The view when you draw back your curtains in the morning is great.

Now we are all retired the four of us have many holidays each year, ranging from UK to Round the world. Of all the Greek islands we have visited, Kos is our favourite. We WILL be returning and our task will be made easier by not having to worry about our booked Hotel...It WILL be the BAHAMAS, have NO doubt!

I am aware that it is mainly the younger set that takes advantage of this type of review. Well my Grandchildren would love it here, and I reassure anyone like myself 'in the twilight of their life' book to go to Kos, book to go to the Bahamas and enjoy all the best of this beautiful island. I sincerely hope my comments are useful to someone out there!!!

The Bahamas Hotel is the friendliest place I have ever stayed and will definitely go back.

It is run by Mama, George and their sons Billy and Costos. They are on first-name terms with everyone and cannot do enough to help.

The hotel is a short walk from the centre, but just far enough away for a bit of peace.

The pool bar food is fab - you have to try Mama's Greek Salad! The milkshakes are to die for and the cocktails aren't bad either!

All in all we had an amazing time.

The ideal base for couples wanting fun in the sun with a lot of memories to take home.
