Does What It Says On The Tin! Best Car Hire Firm Ever Dealt

You literally pay the price for the days you want to hire it for, they take no deposit for excess, you pay no extra insurance and everything is covered. Think you only get this offer if you book in resort though. Best car hire firm every used no rip off merchants here, wish they were in other countries.

Great Car Rental From Office In Argostoli

We arrived in the middle of August in Kefalonia without a car rental and there was nothing available online. Luckily the man in the Agrostoli office went above and beyond to find us a Jeep for 10 days that we could take to Ithaca and return to the airport in Kefalonia. When we went back to the office the next day to collect it he had upgraded us to a new Fiat Panda for almost half the cost. Really reasonable and truly great customer service - would definitely recommend.

Very Good - Would Use Again

Hi have rented cars in many countries over the years.

CBR are as good as they get.

We use their Lassi office to pick up our car.

Very nice people and very easy to deal with.

We were provided a full tank and we returned it full, nice and simple.

No hidden charges to extras.

I would certainly use again in the future.

They also had a lovely 'guard' dog called Nemo at their office!

Tired Car, Poor Customer Service, Grasping Attitude.

We recently hired a Suzuki jeep and arranged to collect from the airport where the remaining charge had to paid in cash. Our flight was delayed due to poor weather. We arrived at the Cbr office at 9.15pm where other people were also collecting vehicles.

The car was in pretty poor condition and the girl in the office was apologetic for the state of the car that had 'many dents and scratches. We even had to use our own phone lights to check over the car in the dark!

We had no other option than to accept the car at this point so headed into the office to settle up the payment. She then stated that because we were late and the office should have closed at 9 pm, we had to pay another 25 euros!

We disputed this but were told "it's in the terms and conditions' and that we could claim this on our insurance. We also had to leave our credit card details which by now felt worrying as I had lost confidence and trust in Cbr. She refused to give a receipt saying that we could have it when we returned the car!

We reluctantly gave 20 euros and headed off to start our holiday.

I emailed the manager asking for the 20 euros to be refunded when we returned the car and asking for him to take our delayed flight into consideration. He refused and gave me a lengthy justification of why they are so greedy.

There are many other car rental companies on the island, and we will never use Cbr again. Their loss, as we are regular visitors to the beautiful island of Kefalonia where the vast majority of business owners would never dream of ripping off tourists in such a blatant way. Shame on you Cbr.

Arrived To Collect Our Car Which Was In Pretty Poo

arrived to collect our car which was in pretty poor shape. Needed a seven seater. Commented on all the scrapes and was careful when watching the guy complete his form. He did not open the door to look inside and so neither did we. Have never checked the inside of a hire car. On our return as soon as we pulled in the guy ran to the passenger door and looked at the underside of the chair and said that we had broken the plastic around the bottom. It was so obvious that he knew it was broken it was breathtaking. We had not noticed it as you couldn't see it unless you looked hard. When we looked at the form we saw that he had not completed the inside check ticks.Immediately we were marched into the office and told to hand over 90Euros and if we did not pay they would take 750Euros. Do not use this company.

Truly Awful Car Rental

Our car rental was booked as part of a package and meant to be a good deal. Really wish we'd booked separately as CBR were the worst car rental company we've ever used. Car was an old Hyundai Accent with over 40k km on the clock, really uncomfortable and small and lots of faults - remote locking broken, wipers didn't clean, door hinges broken.... and no hi-vis vests as required by law. Company not interested in problems or feedback.

Car Rental Bullies

Used this company when they were affiliated with Avis and had good service. They are now independent and the service has deteriorate over time but still I have continued use them. This year had a skid on wet road ( never had a problem before in over 20 years visiting this island) not major and nobody hurt but car skidded sideways into a coppiced olive tree. It took the company two hours to pick us up and when we arrived at the rental office in Skala they attempted to threaten us into paying 500 Euros saying someone had contacted them saying we had been speeding. Rubbish of course being OAPs we are over cautious if anything. Told them this was ridiculous and next day went to police station to report incident and get police report which I gave to them. Heard no more about it needless to say we will never use this company again.

Good Car, Great Service

Picked up and dropped off car from Argostoli. Car was great and everything was hassle free. The service was particularly good - CBR arranged for my mobile phone which I had left in the car (Early morning drop off) to be couriered to Ireland. The phone arrived a few days later and so I was able to continue my holiday without worry. Many thanks. Will use CBR again in future.

Photograph The Whole Car, Inc Underside Scratches

We ordered a Megan online, however ended up with a Hyundai i30 without any reduction in the price. Not ideal but my preference would have been the Megan. The staff were pleasant but mildly hostile, they wouldn't offer me a no excess insurance policy and were greatly upset when I walked them outside to show them their own large sign clearly stating "NO EXCESS".

Regardless we were stung by the trick that they seem to play on a lot of tourists having looked online in retrospect - underside scratches. I took some photographs of the car with my camera (facing the car from the front) at a height of about 30 cm (1 ft) off the ground, these photos showed no scratches. However upon retuning the car the representative lowered himself so that he was lying on his stomach to view a scratch on the underside of the car only visible when viewed from the perspective of a small passing insect. The cost? €90, which we argued down to €40 for a scratch only a mechanic performing work on the underside of the vehicle would ever notice.

Moral of the story- if you chose to use this company collect the car in your overalls as you will be needing to crawl under the car to point of the scratches that they will later charge you for - or use another company.
