Wildcat C5 Is No Entry Level Crossbow

If you are a smaller framed guy say 5"6 and under this xbow will fit you like a dream. It is compact, short limb to lib and boast an abundance of power that not many other 150lb draw weight xbows can accomplish. I don't know why they rate it so low on the Barnett box and web page but this bow shoots a 400Gr. arrow at 340 Feet per second and seems to hit a lot more hard than Barnett give it credit for. Personally I have seen it take down a Rocky Mountain Grizzly from 40 Yards. He dropped within 15 yards. he was long finished by the time we walked up to him. This bear tipped the scales at just over 680lbs. Just to give you an idea of the power this weapon sports. I see no need to get a xbow more powerful than this model from Barnett as it will drop any game in North America.

Wildcat Cable Slide

I bought my wildcat in 2009 and I love the crossbow. The only thing I have had a problem with is that it eats cables. The natural force of the cables against the stock makes indents in the stock that makes ridges and act like like a file to the cables. I read on a site that if you contact Barnett customer service they will send you a cable slide free (I believe later models came with a cable slide). I got a cable slide from Barnett within a week from calling them.

The cable slide works grest to protect the cables and actually made the crossbow shoot faster. The cable slide made my arrows hit higher than with out the slide.

This Crossbow Is Amazing!i Am Glad I Chose The C5

The barnett wildcat C5 is a great bye for the price. I shopped around for weeks looked at many other brands. And went back to the C5. I picked up the all black C5 kit that came with everything even the cocking rope. The scope is nice. I am very happy with the C5 it is easy to cock, easy to sight in, and is very fast. This is the new 2011 C5. I paid $299.99 for is at Dunhams. Look out deer! I will be keeping the C5 for a long time. Thank you Barnettt!

I Started Out With The Barnett Panzer V Then Moved

I started out with the Barnett Panzer V then moved up to the Barnett Wildcat C5 about a year ago - one of the best decisions I ever made!

Having shot 11-12ft/lb Spring/PCP air rifles for the last 20 odd years, the sheer power of the Barnett crossbows amazed me!

The Wildcat is very quick - 300ft per/sec plus with 403/428 grn arrows, is deadly accurate (10 arrows in a 1 1/4 inch grp), very powerful (114lbs of stored limb energy, which translates to between 81-95ft/lbs of energy into the target depending on the arrow weight used), one of the most comfortable stocks I have ever used (rifles not withstanding), and the trigger, although a little heavier at 4.5 lbs when compared to the triggers on my PCP rifles, is none the less crisp and predictable when in use.

I personally use the Barnett rope cocking device for both increased accuracy and comfort (reduces a 150lb draw done to about 75lb draw).

When paired up with Hawkes new Crossbow 3x32 MAP scope this is one awesome

medium/big game hunting machine out to 60yrds, or just a plain and simple tack driver on the range.

This crossbow will put most large calibre hunting rifles to shame accuracy wise straight from the box, is well made (not a single defect since purchased) and is a hell of a lot of fun to shoot!

In short, go buy a Barnett Wildcat C5, you will not be disappointed!

Just Purchased This Crossbow On Ebay For $309.00.

Just purchased this crossbow on ebay for $309.00. Can't beat the price! Its a great product, but the bolts that come with it are absolute junk. I lost 3 of the 4 tips in my target within the first 20 shots. I recommend purchasing some higher end arrows. The scope is great besides the fact that whoever put it together, put the windage and elevation stickers on ass backwards. I would recommend the bow to anybody.

For The Money You Can ' T Beat The Quality Or Comf

For the money you can ' t beat the quality or comfort. No major bugs to work out just a few tweaks.

This is probably the most comfortable compound crossbow that I have ever owned. It is light enough that it doesn ' t weigh you down and very easy pointing. For the money it ' s hard to beat.

It needs an ambidextrous safety and a better trigger group. The trigger is good but it doesn ' t break like glass. Still it is about 4 pounds and you wont pull off target. They also need to put an elevation dial on it so if you wanted to use a regular scope instead of a multi recital scope you could.

Bought Mine Cheap From A Friend, An Unwanted Gift.

Bought mine cheap from a friend, an unwanted gift. Obviously I had to try it out in the house, which was a bit of a mistake, there's now a hole in my front door despite having put 3 phone books in the way. Had it assembled and ready to shoot in about 5 minutes. I'm only used to a pistol xbow or an air rifle before, so the amount of power was initially a bit scary. I reckon it's pretty excellent though, easy to use, but I am going to get the rope cocking device to make it easier to pull. Not for indoor use!

Cant Comment On Long Term Quality As Only Time Wil

Cant comment on long term quality as only time will tell, but certainly feels well built.

As mentioned, accurate and powerful, serious bow.

I've seen comments regarding the Barnett safety mechanism causing some people chew, this works fine, however if you attempt to remove the safety while the trigger isnt fully 'forward' then it wont deativate, so simply push the trigger forward, this is for safety and is mentioned in the instructions, once you're aware of the way it works its not a problem at all.

not really a bad point but no bolts came in the box (I was told 2 included), so make sure you stock up.

Enjoy.
