Maribou Holiday Park & Campsite, Padstow

We have stayed on this site over the past few years and have never experienced anything other than a lovely stay.

The site is well maintained, the people who rent their van to us are lovely and can't do enough to ensure your stay is comfortable.

The site is close to padstow and within a couple of miles, less in some circumstances there are a number of fantastic beaches.

The site is a good option for families but if there is one area that could be improved it would be the provision of more amenities to keep children entertained.

All in all though a lovely place to stop and ideal if you want to escape the frantic pace of modern day living.

The local shop is well stocked if a little up on price compared to a supermarket but that's the price you pay for convenience.

The pub next to the shop is busy and provides good wholesome food.

I would reccomend this site to anyone.

We stayed here during May 2014. First night kept up until 3am by an idiot in a close caravan having a party and playing loud music. We didn't dare go to speak to the individual as we could hear them telling others complaining to f off! Day two same again until the early hours. Day three overheard said person bragging about growing cannabis in his caravan! We went to speak to the reception on a number of occasions but it was always closed. Spoke to the lady in the cafe next door who indicated that this was typical behaviour of the individual. Decided to leave early in the end due to lack of sleep and fear of being broken into. I wouldn't recommend staying here at any cost!

We stayed here for a week caravan was nice and clean, site could do with some money invested to make it better bar is ok theres a cafe on site it ok but its all mainly fried food no healthy options,

I stayed for a week here, someone was advertising their static and prices where cheap so went for it with the family. Can honestly say it was lovely. It is quiet, clean, small clubhouse, crazy golf, shop fine and chip shop good. I would love to go back and will do at some point as beaches nearby where amazing. Lots to choose from and we also had nice day at padstow which is local to. Its not buzzing with bright lights and amusements, although there are a few in a room but we didn't bother with, but if you are after cheap holiday getting back to basics kicking a ball round with the kids or paddling in the sea its perfect.

Hired the gate house, the carpets were filthy, mattress stained, cold, damp, mouldy, cracks filled with tissue, radiators falling off of the walls and the smell was that awful we left the following morning only as we could not find somewhere the same night. We were appalled with what we had given to us, to rent such a horrid place was just disgusting. Most definetley would not recommend to anyone. Don't waste your time and hard earn money on such filth!

over the days me and my family have stayed it has been fun their is a beach close to the site and shops i would recommend this to anyone. the shop on site is good. but the new trip meter they have put on dose not allow you to have alot of electrical appliances in because it causes the electric to trip. the caravans are nicely spaced apart not like on other sites we all had great fun so i hope to go again soon.

I was shocked to read the not so good reviews,we have been visiting this caravan park for years,and have never had a bad van,we usually pay to get a silver or gold van and it is still great value for money,it is near to great beaches and padstow,and half the price of some nearby parks,i have stayed at others but maribou gets my vote.The family are great and always helpful.Yes i like luxury and with the gold vans you get it as far as caravans go,so why pay over 1000 pounds for the same van on a snooty park when i can use the money saved for meals out etc.My family all came last year and the only reason they are not going this year was the weather,but we are returning in may and are looking forward to it.

We went here a few years ago and were horrified to realise that it was one of the tatty sites we had laughed at while looking around campsites on a previous visit to Cornwall. I wish we had noted doen the name at that time,

Ok, here's the good bit....the caravan was clean.

The site was rough and dirty. The family who run it were unhelpful. My clothes smelled of chip fat after using the laundry's washing machines. Later in the holiday i saw a member of staff washing out the washcloths from the pub and chip shop - stinking rags only fit for the bin. The lady in the shop was unfriendly and wouldn't give us change for the washing machines, which were more expensive than other places i've been

The raucous"entertainment" went on till one o'clock and after that the site took a while to quieten down. Kids ran around unsupervised in the dark field while their parents got drunk. We were also kept awake by the occupants of the caravan next to hours Their car was parked between their caravan and ours and they kept blasting out the car radio at loud volume.

The site was scrappy and uncared for, with empty flower beds full of dead grass. The outdoor toys were ancient and dirty, with bottles and a condom strewn around. Litter everywhere and just a nasty wee place.

Please avoid like the plague, unless it has changed greatly since we were there.

We cam across this site whilst looking for a caravn site.the site is an excellent family run place and the value for money excellent . The whole family run the site and will help you whatever the problem. Yes it's not top of the range but what iyou get

on site and it's location near great beaches is far better than other sites charging far more for less !

The caravan was spacious and very clean with kids play areas . It located near st meryn which is an excellent Cornish village

And all within a few miles of the best beaches in Cornwall

Ignore the poor review as this is an excellent site and very affordable during these difficult. Times

we love cornwall & always will, we have been visiting the area for quite a few years with the kids & now just the 2 of us. We found that Maribou is not high end, but clean & tidy.At present the caravans are being upgraded & we were disappointed that the caravan we usually stop in had been replaced, but when we got there we found that the one that we had been allocated was much larger & better. The site has entertainment in the club house which cater for children. It has a games room for the kids to play in.there is also a Laundry room. close by is a pub, indian restaurant & convenience store. We always find the staff friendly & helpful.The site is a good base for local attractions.

The area has several beaches close by,our favorite being Harlyn Bay.

We will be back next year.
