Firts Camping Experience
We Stayed at Watergate bay touring park 12 august 2011 for one week.
Never been camping before so me and my partner did know what to expect.
In general we had a lovely time as Cornwall is beautiful.
Touring Park could have been better, it was very noisy both early morning and late at night, that was mainly due to rude families just assuming everyone else wanted to listen to their conversations every morning at 6 am, that is not the touring parks doing.. Granted! Felt like we knew the family next to us as they were so load.
Toilets and showers were pretty dirty, hair clogging plug holes etc, however I often saw the cleaner cleaning them, and I assumed it was because it was high season and being used.
Reception staff were friendly although had little knowledge of attractions in Cornwall.
The pitch was big, but the late night entertainment was load so if you like to have a sleep on your hols, this park not for you.
Shop was ok, cheap and staff in there friendly.
We wont visit there again, think hotels are for us but will try camping again, but def not go back there.
We Have Stayed At This Site On Several Occasions A
We have stayed at this site on several occasions and have always found it to be friendly and welcoming, pitches are spacous, toilet block is always clean even during busy times, as dog owners we appreciate the large dog exercise area and hope that the few campers who do not clear up after their dogs don't spoil it for the owners who care. Will deffinatley holiday there again.
Just Come Back After Doing Two Weeks Camping. Enjo
Just come back after doing two weeks camping. Enjoyed it but wouldnt stay there again. Showers and toilets where dirty for two weeks i was there. Need to up date the shop cant get much from there. Staff very freindly and helpfull. Cost wise was to much for there.
we found the site very clean and the shop very reasonable, very suprised to hear the toilets were dirty they were clean and tidy when we used them, strangely enought the same week as as this review.
Fantastic Value For Money, The Staff Couldn't Have
Fantastic value for money, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and our whole family enjoyed the site. We would highly recommend. We had 3 pitches 2 caravans a tent and a gazebo 5 adults and 2 children and when the gazebo came down while we were in St Ives the folks did what they could to secure it till we got back. We had a break down on the way and they recommended a mechanic Mr John Presscott who again we would highly recommend if you are unfortunate enough to need one.The 2 little ones 6 and 8 years were entertained from morn till dusk thanks to the kids club play area and free bus to beach. Shop and cafe prices good value for money. Easy check in and over night stay. Site is very well maintained and clean, Plenty of free showers available and washing facilaties, laundry good. Thanks to all from the Brookes family (holiday taken 14th/21st) August

Just Come Back From Spending 9 Nights At Watergate
Just come back from spending 9 nights at Watergate Bay touring park, was supposed to be 7 booked 2 extra!! 1st time and definitely wont be the last, friendly helpful staff both on arrival and during our stay. Very clean and well laid out, large pitches with plenty of room for caravan, awning windbreaks and car. Pool very clean and warm, well thought out with all weather cover. Shop had all the basics and reasonable prices, food in cafe was very reasonable too & normal pub prices in the bar. Toilets & showers plentiful and clean. Site handy for visiting other places and only couple of mins in car or 20 mins walk to beach. All in all well worth the 8 hours travelling to get there!
I Have Just Had A Lovely Camping Experience At Wat
i have just had a lovely camping experience at watergate bay touring park, we booked the sight then read the reviews after booking but as we were going without family (just two without the kids)we weren't to worried.
i have to say it is overall one of the best sights we have camped on over the years, the staff were excellent, not just a few but all of them, from the reception to the bar and the cleaning. the planes did fly over but were no problem. the pitch sizes were great and were all marked out, which i have rarely seen before. the club was lovely, it did have bingo one night which i don't like but i do understand that we all have to be catered for. i liked the fact i could hire cool blocks and recharge my mobile in reception. the only thing i found pricey was the charge of the electric box in wash/shower room which was 40p for 5-6 minutes. the washing up room was also excellent and not ouside. it was a great experience and i can't wait to take the kids
We Have Been Coming To Watergate Bay For Five Year
We have been coming to Watergate bay for five years now. It is a great site the children love it. As for other reports saying they were not made to feel welcome, i find it the complete opposite they could not make you more welcome, nothing is too much trouble. It may get a bit muddy at times but no one can help the british weather.
I've Been Travelling To Watergate Bay Park For Man
I've been travelling to Watergate Bay Park for many years now and can honestly say that its superb. I note the complaints about mud from some other reviewers but I have to say " what do you expect " , its a grass site so when it rains it can get muddy , so would anywhere !. It doesnt get that bad , honestly. The site gets improved every year with little changes that might only be noticed by the regular visitors. For 2009 they are working on a new shop and cafe , building work was well underway at Easter. The site is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a good mix of entertainment in the evenings from Karaoke to Live Bands ( and believe me you dont want to miss friday night and watergate favourites Cover to Cover ). Move away from the clubhouse though and it does quieten down fairly quickly.
The pitches are level and of good size so no problems there. wasing and toilet facilities are clean and modern and not busy except at the obvious peak times.
Fields A, B, C And Some Of E Are Good Pitches. 10
Fields A, B, C and some of E are good pitches. 10-15 minute walk to perhaps the best beach (home of TV series 'Echo Beach) in Cornwall or 2 minute drive. Security on the site is fairly good, with guards walking around at night and having vehicle recognition cameras for entry on to the site. Tennis courts. Dog walking area. Not enough tar mac roads on site, it was raining most of the time we were there and the roads are like Glastonbury (Mud, mud glorious mud!!!!). In the main toilet block there is only one soap dispenser and one hand dryer, despite having eight sinks.
During July & August a standard pitch is £21, but having to pay extra for additional people is unfair, surely you should pay for just the pitch and not how many are stopping on it (within reason, of course). Great site for the beach, but more needs to be done about hand washing facilities
I found this review not helpful because... it is a great campsite and they have only got a camera so they can reconize what car is coming in.
