Never Book A Holiday With Park Holidays Again

Been using park holidays for five years entertainment is usually fine for little ones we have been to Dawlish Sands and found it okay and the children enjoyed the entertainment especially the loopy club but we found it a bit loud and lively with young ones so we decided to try sandhills as long as it had loopy we were happy we only stay for the childrens entertainment we arrived to a lovely gold plus caravan can;t fault it took the children to the evening entertainment brilliant entertainers took them again for the morning kids fun again fantastic by tuesday the two entertainers had walked out entertainment was cancelled for one morning but they muddled together and carried on we had a great week and booked before we left for the following 6 weeks before our holiday we had a e-mail asking us to contact the manager of the park on doing so we were told the caravan we had booked was no longer available and we could have our money back or downgrade with only 6 weeks to go we settled for a downgrade 6 berth bronze on checking the website i noticed a 6 berth gold plus was available so again we rang the park and apparrently that is what we were booked to have even when i clearly heared her say a bronze ! we arrived at the park and went to the caravan lovely caravan (Private Let) cleaned by so and so within 5 mins i had found a toenail clipping a childs t-shirt at the side of the settee some mouldy chocolate and a paper! otherwise clean we were right opposite the play area which was fine because park is very quite thats why we returned we when up to the childrens entertainment with the weekly entertainment guide ( which was not followed disappointed children no fancy dress and my children were not the only ones) ask your entertainments team was also printed on the booklet Entertainment Team consisted of one person entertainment was poor and we were dissapointed sunday advertised panto in the afternoon and loopy show in the evening Things were looking up ! Panto was rubbish there was only a handful of children there but they should have still been professional some comments were quite close to the knuckle which there was no reason for and the three in the panto did.nt seem to be interested even so we went back in the evening to see loopy total rubbish half the children looked about to fall asleep it lasted all of 20 mins and then selling a cd .

By Monday morning my husband asked the question is there going to be loopy coming out to which the young entertainer replied no there is only me here and im running around like a fool we were angry loopy is advertised as being their with the week going quickly we decide to make the most of it there was no entertainment day or night on a wednesday because it was his day off we don't blame him in all fairness he was doing what he could on his own the entertainment did liven up a bit after that the bar was always sold out of kids drinks and pizzas and seeing they were bought from lidl which was only around the corner surely one of the many SALES ASSISTANTS could have taken a trip to stock up By the way the Manager that rang us to say that the caravan was no longer available was actually a sales assistant who was outside on the first night we were going to the club house who my husband greeted with a good evening who then went running into the office and came back with another member of staff and stood looking at us for about 5 mins before going back to her office most prob knew that we were the ones they had downgraded seeing as we were the only welsh family there with six children at least our children were well behaved the rest of the week came and went we went to book again for the folowing year like we always do because the kids love loopy we would have come back to sandhills even when the entertainment was not at its best because the park its self is peacefull but there was a notice up saying that sandhills would no longer have any entertainment so we decided yo book for Dawlish instead my husband when up to the reception to be told you cannot book from here so he rang direct to be told the discount we have been having by rebooking before we leave to have the same price as we had paid for this year was only available if we booked for sandhills we explained that they did not have a caravan big enough for us at sandhills and that there would be no entertainment for the children and to be honest we struggled this year in a 6 berth but had not much choice 6 weeks before the baby will be older next year the answer was basically well thets in this years terms and conditions which no body at sandhills could show us they only seem interested in sales at sandhills the holiday which we had looked forward to all year was ruined from start to finish we are now glad we did not book dawlish after reading recent reviews for this year if you want a fun holiday for the kids don't touch with a barge pole i have also noticed that the manager of dawlish answered the people who put down nice comments but not the ones who did'nt a good one for undercover boss i think never use park holidays again

We just returned from this holiday camp and keeping it short and sweet we were unimpressed with the staff, entertainment - didn't seem to know what customer service is-unhelpful and disinterested(although very pleasant and not rude). We went at start of March, knowing weather would be cold, but caravan was freezing to the point where you could see your breath, another couple staying in the camp hotel (so no excuse at all for coldness) - also complained of same thing and put in a formal complaints. The park itself and Christchurch are quaint and picturesque, just don't expect any service to speak of, good entertainment, and don't go unless it's warm - they shouldn't open the park at this time if they can't keep it adequately warm. Finally, it's 'dog freindly' but other than the caravan there is nowhere on the park you can take your dog e.g. bar etc. I am not a picky person, but this fell short of expectations and for the money we paid, we could have got a lot better. Will be writing to Sandhills for an explanation/compensation.

Went To This Park About 4 Years Ago And Holidayed

Went to this park about 4 years ago and holidayed again last August 2010 and wont be returning. It has changed so much - not child friendly at all anymore. There are no amenities for the older child.Shop is no longer there - a small fridge in reception. Appears that the park are only interested in selling caravans. Not recommended for families with older children.

A Dreadfully Dirty Caravan, With Rust On The Fridg

A dreadfully dirty caravan, with rust on the fridge and freezer doors and mould in the freezer. No instruction book for applicances. Electrical testing labels out of date. Food in bar expensive, poor quality and took over 1 hour. Advertised that you could take your dog on the beach - all beaches banned dogs. Clumps of dog hairs in the bedroom. Staff unhelpful, to the point of being rude. I would definitely NOT touch this place with a barge pole.
