I came in Hungary to watch the F1 race in Hungary. I had searched at home on the internet, if there is any possibility to rent a car in Budapest with an airport delivery, but i didn't want to use Avis, Europecar, or other expensive companies. The google adviced Rentauto.hu. I called them late night, a guy answered the phone, called Miki, he was really kind at all, and he reserved a car for me. As i arrived to Liszt Ferenc, another young guy waited me with a nameboard. We went out of the ap. parking, because the costumers have to pay for it. ( They don't have an AirportOffice ).... We stopped at the nearest patrol station and we did the contract there. I got a really new car, there was only 5000km-s in it, for 39€-s a day !!! They were kind, the car was excellent, i paid not as much as i planned, so CHOOSE THEM :)

1. We arrived to a train station and ordered a car there but we had to go to the office with the guy to arrange paper work. After a long night I could have imagined a better way of spending my time.

2. The car we asked for was not the one we have got but we took it as they say there is no guarantee that you get the one you've ordered.

3. The car was very dirty and we had to drive to the gas station immediately because there was no fuel left by the last renter. We were told to take the car back empty as well. Weird.

4. The cars are rented by them as well, so they do not own the cars!

5. When we took the car back the guy tried to rip us off. Walked around the car and found a scratch. But that scratch was fixed quite a while ago, I could see it so I've asked him whether he thinks that I was trying to fix it with a nail polish:) we have asked for the previous state assessment and we could see that it was signed on it, but he insisted and argued! In the end he let us go.

If you are not talented enough you will be ripped off for something you haven't caused, so I recommend you taking photos before taking the car so you can defend yourself!

Be sure to check the oil level as well otherwise you might find yourself in a double rip off situation when you have to pay for the oil and the rip off as well!

This is a negative review is for AutoUnited Rent A Car. We rented an automatic car from Auto-United Hungary Car Rental / AutoUnited Rent a Car in budapest and it was the worst experience. Upon renting the vehicle the gentleman told us to use 95 fuel (unleaded) fuel for the vehicle. When it was time to fill up we went to the pump undid the nozzle and filled it up with 95 unleaded. Fast forward 1 hour. We arrived at the Hungarian / Croatian border and the car died. We asked the border patrol to inspect the car and called up the rental car company. The guy asked us questions regarding the gear shift and then asked what fuel did you use, we said '95 as you said'.. it was the incorrect fuel. We were supposed to use diesel. It took many calls and 3 hours of waiting to get a tow truck to get us to the nearest town to get drained and refilled. We did not receive any follow-up calls to see how we were doing, if the truck came, if we made it to the garage okay. We had to call the rental company so they would translate that we had to pay the fees despite the fact the employee told us we were to use unleaded fuel.The total cost of tow and repair 180 Euros (which the tow company would not even pay half for). Do not use Auto-United Hungary Car Rental / AutoUnited Rent a Car in budapest.
