Terrible Company, Totally Untrustworthy

Terrible company. I booked a rental car at Manchester airport with Easirent. On Arrival, the provider told me they require a British license, even though I'm American and haven't been in the country very long. Nothing mentioned in the T&Cs about this, but they said it's their policy. They cancelled the booking and told me to call EasyCar / Cartrawler for a refund. I did, but they refused on the grounds that I'd already passed the pickup time - well yes, obviously, as there was no way of anticipating this problem until I got to the counter. Completely intransigent, they tried to deflect the issue to my residency... in the end, no legal basis for enforcing their rules, which seem to be invented on-the-fly by the Filipino call center staff, yet no refund. I'm contesting the charge with American Express - maybe they can find a resolution. Won't be booking with EasyCar again. Avoid like the plague

Not A Reasonable Company. Not Hiring From Them Anymore

Never anymore. I had a terrible experience with Easycar. After I booked a car, the owner send me a message requesting new conditions for the use of his car. I didn't agree, and after that Easycar decided to charge me of Cancelation fee, even when I explained that I didn't cause the cancelation in the first place.

I tried to persuade the customer service person I dealt with to keep me as a customer showing some goodwill (mainly because who caused all the trouble was the car owner), but he showed no willingness to solve this simple problem.

For me it shows how they don't care about their customer.

For me, no more Easycar.

Terms & Conditions Unclear

Pre-paid euro 289 for 7 days car rental for pick up at Heathrow, purchased damage excess policy as a precaution. On arrival, rental office named EASICAR was 10 minute shuttle bus ride away, office was smelly and unkept. Would not hand over the car without an additional gbp 105.00 plus additional money for petrol as claimed i needed a damage excess policy with easicar not easycar.com as it wasnt valid. I canceled the car and lost euro 95.00 as a penalty, ended up with 3 children on public transport into London carrying 3 car seats. Very unhappy with the overall service and would never use again, Easycar are not an efficient car rental broker and should not be allowed to offer a service which they clearly cannot deliver.

No Service, No Contact And No Car

DO NOT USE Easycar. Money taken and no confirmation email received. Checked with the local company and they had no booking for the car we expected to be picking up. Phoned customer services as soon as they opened and after 30 minutes of being told to be a little patient , gave up on the 10p per minute call as no one was answering.

Waster money, wasted time and a ruined trip thanks to this bunch of incompetent buffoons.

What's The Point ??

What's the point of hiring a car through an agent in UK - when you get to Spain you take the risk of handing over 500 - 1000 euros as excess in case of damage to vehicle OR you take up another insurance to cover. We did just that having already paid easyCar £200.15 we then paid FireFly a further 235.01euros for their insurance and 93.42euros for a full tank of fuel !!! The reason we decided to take their insurance was that the lady in the office of FireFly was insistent she take 700euros off a credit card to cover any damage, she said the insurance we had taken out with easyCar was of no interest to her and we would have to pay FireFly and then try to recover any monies from easyCar !! This was before we saw the car - and when we did we were shocked at the state of it, scratches and dents and reeked of urine inside !! We took photo's although she said that was unnecessary as we had full cover now. All this played on our minds for many days in our holiday. At the very start when making the booking with easyCar we were concerned as you don't get to see who your contract for hire is with until you make payment - Firefly did not have a good reputation so when we realised this we tried to cancel with easyCar but no way could we do that according to them. So lesson learned DON'T USE easyCar - book directly with a Spanish car hire company OR do what we intend to do and that is DRIVE our own car down.

Terrible Experience At Venice Airport

Easycar should not be trading in consideration of my latest experience at venice Airport. The company could simply not provide the car and accessories I had paid for on the site. A simple case o false advertising. I had rented a car model with snow tire to go to the mountain (and paid extra for the tyres) to just discover that there was no model in that category with snow tyres. As I was heading to the mountains I was forced to upgrade to another car and this ended me up costing almost £120 in excess. More than 30% of the contracted price. They should be referred to the appropriate authorities as this is nothing but robbery and taking advantage. The way it is they will not be in business for much longer. No surprise they took the very hard stance they were not going to provide any refund. Incredibly disappointing

Easycar & Advantage; Terrible Value And Service At Malaga

In Mat 2012 we had our worst experience of customer service in over 30 years of European car hire - from EASYCAR and local partner ADVANTAGE at Malaga airport.

The pick up is hidden in the furthest corner of the underground car park and not signposted from anywhere in arrivals, with no sign over the office (apart from an A4 notice on a side window). So clients arrive flustered and confused after wandering around in the gloom. On entering the glass booth you're curtly ordered out again to look at the notice on a side window which tells you to take a numbered ticket from a well-concealed dispenser and wait your turn.

'Wait' being the operative word, because the staff behave as if their jobs depend on selling additional insurances at 7 Euros a day, even if you've already bought this before your trip or like us, have annual multi-trip cover. 10 minutes of the 11-minute check-out process is taken up with agressive hard-sell while you argue that you don't want excess insurance. They threaten dire consequences if you refuse; which spoils the mood, stacks up the queues behind you and concludes with the threat that 'you'll have to return up to an hour early, take a ticket and wait as we will have to thoroughly check the car without the extra insurance; otherwise you could just drop the keys without a check'.

In practice we checked back in again three days later with only 10 minutes' delay, to a memeber of counter staff who, as he was no longer under pressure to sell us extras, was pleasant and courteous (to us - we watched him putting new arrivals throught the same, bullying hard-sell routine!).

And a full-to-empty fuelling policy on a short local hire this meant that I paid for three times more fuel than I could possibly use - doubling the effective rental cost. A prior email exchange to complain or re-negotiate this left me feeling that 'customer services' should be re-titled 'profit protection services' as I got a stalling response which merely took me outside their 24-hour free cancellation period .

A pity- as the car itself was perfect, and they even let me choose between a Ford Kaa (yuk) and a Fiat Panda (yippeeFord).

Nice And Easy

Although there was some confusion when I went to pick the car up with my booking, this was rectified (albeit a little slowly).

After that I found everything to be absolutely fine. I had no problems with the car, no problems with drop off and generally had a straightforward experience.

Good value for money as well.

I've only ever used these guys and Carhire 3000 so I probably dont have a great deal to compare it to but on the whole it was a problem free experience and I would use easycar again.

No Not Use Easycar

Yes they are 'a bit' cheaper than other car rental companies but not enought to go with them. EasyCar subcontract the work to small local car hire companies. The one in Alicante worked out of a camper van, seriously.

1) Power kept cutting off in the camper vans.

2) Queued for 60mins, after we found the camper vans in the car park.

3) All the ohter car rental companies has air conditioned offices.

4) They tried to get me to pay for additional insurance cover on top of what I has already paid on the EasyCar website.

5) They had to take a credit card for deposit, I only had a debit card.

6) I was told to take my paper license, this was not needed.

7) I had to pay for a full fuel tank and then return the tank empty, but did not do enough miles, so they benefit massively.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!!!

All people deserve very good life time and home loans or just secured loan will make it much better. Because freedom is based on money.

It is known that money can make us disembarrass. But how to act if one doesn't have money? The only one way is to receive the personal loans or just auto loan.

Easycar Is Terrible

Don't rent at Easycar, if you have any problems, there is no way to reach them. They don't have a telephone number (really), and don't respond to emails at all. Even their partners who are the actual car rental companies, have no telephone numbers and cannot reach Easycar themselves.

We had to pick up the car, for which we paid for via Easy Car, at SicilyByCar at Olbia Airport, but got confronted with the problem that they accepted only credit cards in combination with a pin code. We did had the credit card, but not the pin code.

We came with the solution to transfer the car on the name of one of the other drivers, who did had a credit card with pin. But that was impossible to do, because SicilyByCar had to reach Easy Car for that, and even they didn't had an telephone number of Easy Car.

In the hall of car rental companies they where the only car rental company with a very long queue of complaining customers. Their main problem had all to do with credit card payment problems.

If you want to rent a car at Olbia Airport, just go to the hall of car rental companies en hire a car on the spot: better quality, more payment options, much better service, and way cheaper.

Easycar and SicilybyCar is definitely a no go area!
