Fair Deal, Nice People.
This summer we thought of trying farocar for the 1st time, and I made a brief friendly phone call to be sure it was from a trusted site and car hire company.
Very friendly and nice people, reservation was easy and everything went well.
When at Faro airport, their staff was expecting us and we quickly got everything sorted. Got easy instructions and a one year old VW Polo which was spotless and clean.
We felt welcome and will be using farocar again when visiting Algarve.

Just Back From Faro. Farocar Hire Didn't Have The
Just back from Faro. Farocar hire didn't have the right vehicle waiting for us and no GPS which was also ordered. They exchanged the car later that day buy moaned at us about having to drive out so far! They also told us that they still had no GPS and that we should buy a new one which would be the same price as the rental. Overall very good value for money but downside is lack of customer service and general organisation.

Hired Class B Car Last Summer, Given Seat Ibiza 20
Hired Class B car last summer, given Seat Ibiza 2010 registered. On driving into Faro Airport to drop back the hire car, my eldest daughter aged 3 proceeded to get sick in her car seat as I was parking the car. The Customer Service Rep called up to the car at my request, I advised him of the situation as we were running late for our flight the car we could not clean car seat. He advised this was ok and soiling fee would not be charged to our credit card. Excellent car and very good service. This was our second time to use Farocar andn Highly Recommend this company.

I Am Going In Less Than 2 Weeks With My Family An
I am going in less than 2 weeks with my family and the car I had booked was 6 weeks ago, they have just called and cancelled my booking with no explanation and no alterative. I have am now trying to find another somewhere else which I am finding very difficult. PLEASE STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY

Very nice and efficient people. Excellent price, Euro 16/day (off-season in December). No hassle. They can bring the car to your hotel, if you whim so.
Some reviewers complain that "return of the car was a nightmare". Well, Farocar ask you to park the car on specified spot at the Faro Airport and leave the keys inside; nothing can be simpler than that.

Their website was fast & easy to use, and in the same day we managed to make all our arrangements. When we arrived at Faro airport they were expecting us near the coffee area, and made the courtesy of helping us with our luggage. The car was picked up just few steps from the airport building and we were glad to find a nice and clean vehicle dated of 2008. Instructions were given by an english speaking lady that was very helpful. We found that farocar fuel policy (return same level as when collected) was fair. During our hire everything went fine without problems, and return procedure at the airport parking area was again very convinient.

Would never use Farocar again !! Nothing wrong with the car pickup process once you track down the agent - but return of the car has been a nightmare.
During my rental I had a puncture (immediately phoned the office in Sagres to advise them) and was looking to discuss with the agent at Faro airport. No-one there at agreed time - I specifically asked the van girl to be there on time, she said she would - waited an additional 20 minutes but had to catch flight so posted keys into van as requested.
My credit card has now been hit with £138 for a new tyre (for a small Seat !!) + another £80 for supposed damage to an alloy (which was battered and documented before I picked it up).
I have phoned the office three times now to discuss but keep getting told only one member of staff can investigate and she only works Sundays !!

I disagree with this review because...
It wasn't farocar fault that you blown the tire of your hired vehicle, and subsequence of that the alloy was also damaged. Your selected insurance didn't cover for that situation so it was charge accordingly. Regarding the airport our staff is always there during normal working hours. I would like to refer also that we have an appropriate customer care section on our website for faster and easier solution.

Excellent service from Farocar. We were met at the airport by a very friendly and efficient representative who completed the paperwork promptly then took us to our almost new car which was parked only in the car park opposite the main entrance, On our return we just left the vehicle in the designated bay just a short walk fron the departures door. The whole operation was very easy.

I'm currently resident in Algarve, and I request many times car hire from this company. Not once they let me down, and whenever me or my friends called them they were very nice and helpful, something very rare in our days.
Their vehicles were always within easy walking distance from the airport building and the vehicles were in good condition.

The Booking Process At Www.farocar.com Was Easy An
The booking process at www.farocar.com was easy and they seemed very friendly. Somebody was there when we arrived even if it was late on Sunday. The car was ok, albeit with a few dents and scratches and an almost empty tank.Everything was ok with the car but I was surprised when nobody was at the airport of Faro when we returned the car at the agreed upon time. I emailed them the next day asking for a final receipt confirming that everything had been returned as it was when we picked up the car. After I received no response, I checked online my credit card statement and found that not only they had charged my card for the entire rental amount the day after we picked up the car (after they had said that the charge would occur only after we returned the car), they also made two additional charges for unknown reasons. They couldn't explain what they were for when I called them, promised that a manager would contact me the next day, but I have not heard from them since. I was very disappointed that they would abuse my credit card information. I do not recommend that you rent a car from them.
the money you illegally took from my credit card was refunded by my bank. I took all your insurances out and when i was on the plane flying back to the uk, you helped yourself to 300 euros from my credit card. i for one will never ever rent from you again

I disagree with this review because:
It's common that some hired vehicles may show very small dents or scratches, always hardly noticeable and caused by previous customers.
It's unreasonable to repaint the whole vehicle when there is only one minor scratch.
Besides this minor fact, your vehicle was in perfect conditions, worked flawlessly during your rental period.
According to your signed contract/agreement we are allowed to charge your credit card in case of unreported damage (this is similar to any rent a car company worldwide).
Our staff was definately at the airport, if not in the parking area, then inside the airport building.
It's very frequent that when clients are aware of any unreported damage caused during their rental period, they skip the checking of their vehicles hoping that the damage is not noticed/charged.
You should use our customer care section easily found on our website, this would help solving your problem faster.
