Dont Rent A Car At Holiday Autos And Del Paso
Warning: Please be cautious!
1. I booked a car with Holiday Cars for 9 days in Malaga, picked up at the airport. The shuttle bus was in poor condition and took us to Delpasso (the car rental company).
2. The employee at the counter acted overly friendly but insisted we had to take out additional insurance. Strange, since we had already purchased insurance through Holiday Cars. In fact, two days prior, we received an email from AXA Insurance advising us not to take out extra insurance on-site.

4. The employee got and claimed I couldn’t take the car because the name on my credit card didn’t match. This was false. I had already paid at the time of booking. The issue? My first name was abbreviated on the credit card, which is common for every Dutch person. Without a credit card showing my full first name, they refused to give me the car.
So, what now? Lost money??
Please, never do business with these people. I tried calling but received no response, and emails go unanswered. It’s disgraceful. Europe, please stop this! Credit card companies like Mastercard abbreviate names on cards, and Delpasso knows this.!
. No one in the Netherlands has their full first name on their credit card, so this is clearly a setup to force you to pay extra! Avoid them at all costs. On September 27, I booked with Sunny Cars – everything was quick and well-handled, using the same credit card! So, do not book with Holiday Autos.
By the way, there were two other couples, a German and another, who faced the same issue. Terrible. !!!

Avoid holidaycars at all costs. Don't be fooled by low prices - they take your money. Go with any other recognisable rental directly even if it costs you more. The terms and conditions of your rental with holidaycars are designed to make it highly likely that no car will be provided: if your flight lands 59 mins late then your booking is void without a refund.

I cancelled my booking within the free cancellation policy period. Then support made me wait 20 days for the refund and now sent me a voucher, which I declined. not responding ever since.

I made a booking with them in the summer of 2017 for a rental in Dec 2017. When I collected the car, Europcar told me there was no insurance included and I could not take the car unless I paid and extra £550 for the insurance. Europcar subsequently emailed me to confirm that the booking was made from an international booking source and so mandatory insurance would not have been automatically included. When I queried this with Europcar they confirmed this again and stated that the Basic Protection package was not selected when the booking was made with them.
I sent both these emails to Holidaycars.com but they just replied and told me that Europcar told them insurance was included. I asked them to prove this since I had emailed them my correspondence from Europcar stating it was not included but they ignored my request. They then told me that they would not be communicating with me again on this matter.
So I have sent them written proof from Europcar that there was no insurance, yet they refuse to even communicate with me and certainly no refund on either the booking, or the insurance.
I wish I had read all the comments about this company on TripAdvisor before I made my booking. It would have saved me a lot of money.

Avoid Holidaycars.com At All Costs!
If you are in the market for a car rental and are considering HolidayCars.com, I advise to avoid at all cost. Customer service is terrible. We rented a car in Hawaii and the local rental agency had no record of purchasing insurance through Holidaycars.com. Additionally, holidaycars provides no information on what the car insurance policy is, does not document you purchased the policy, and refuses to answer questions about policy or provide a refund. Initially they agreed to a refund and told me to check my email for reimbursement details... well that never came and then by email later on they stated they would not issue a refund for the “insurance.”
Long story short, the insurance is a rip-off and the company traps you, and you end up buying additional insurance so you know you are covered! Avoid them at all cost. Initial savings are not worth it... you’ll pay in the long run.
We Have Recently Used Holidaycars.com To Iceland I
We have recently used Holidaycars.com to Iceland in September 2017. We strongly advise anyone of using this rental company. In our confirmation it stated that we shouldn't buy any more insurance offered by the rental company which was Budget in Iceland airport because we have paid for the total package of insurance. When we arrived, we found out that Holidaycars only booked the basic car with Budget without any insurance. We called the emergency number on the confirmation, which turned out to be Rentalcars.com. Eventually we got a supervisor who promised us and wrote us an email that we would be reimbursed insurance since our confirmation did state that we didn't need any more local rental insurance. That took over an hour of phone call with sending them the copy of confirmation..etc. We paid extra insurance of about 800 USD. After we returned the car, we tried to get reimbursed without success with numerous phone calls and emails. We have so far unable to get refund of any kind. In fact, our emails, including emails to the superviser were not answered and rentalcars.com now said that since we booked with Holidaycars, we have to speak with them. The Holidayscars is open only during office hour at their office who knows where.
Holidaycars and Rentalcars may or may not be related. Be aware of the following
1. Holidayscars do not have 24 hour service.
2. The 24 hour number on the confirmation is Rentalcars.com and they would deny help stating you need to bring it up to Holidayscars which will be unavailable.
3. The extra insurance paid is pocketed somewhere and will not be reflected on the actual car rental company reservation.
4. Even if they promise to reimburse the extra insurance we have to pay on site, they will not honour their own written promise.
The bottom line is only rent from the actual rental agency where you are picking up the car.
Don't Use Them
I rented a car through holidaycars.com. My flight add 2 hours delay and when I arrived at the airport rental car office it was closed. I couldn't reach holidaycars by phone. I had to rent a car with another provider. When I called holidaycars.com they told me that I should have called the rental place when I found out that my flight was delayed. I am wondering why we have to provide the flight number then when we rent a car!? I wrote an email to complain, I never got an answer back! Don't use them!

Extra Carges - Be Warned
Just hired a car and it states no extra charges but hidden deep in my terms and conditions there were extra charges I incurred when picking up the car. I stated that I wanted to pick the car up at 9pm and they sold me a voucher to a company that closes at 8pm and therefore incurred extra €50 charge. I wasn't the only person. Be warned and do not use this firm as they are not clear and transparent on their pricing.
Big Scamp - Do Not Rent
I paid online in holidayscars.com 421 euros in order to rent a car (Fiat punto or bigger) for 15 days in Sicily - Italy. The partner of holidayscars which was giving the car was maggiore.com .
In office of Maggiore they didn’t accept my credit card and refused to give me the car that I have already paid. Then I called the support line on holidayscars.com 1-888-223-5555 to tell them that their partner refused to give me the car and I want help. I asked them either to find me another rental office in Sicily or to return me my money because they cannot provide me that service.
From the support line in US were forwarding me to an answering machine in Germany which was speaking only german in terrible quality (I don’t speak German). This happened 2 times I called third time I asked from the operator to solve my problem and not to redirect to some face machine in order to get rid of me.
I asked him to find me another office than Maggiore or to send me my money back because I couldn’t take my car and I had already paid extra main for cancelation. Instead the third operator he refused to help although I told him that I had paid you 528 euro.
With no choice left I went second time to Maggiore and I tried to find a solution. They told me since the system doesn’t accept your credit card you have to pay more 421 euros in order to have full car coverage otherwise we don’t give you the car. I was forced to pay 421 euro more in order not to lose the 528 euros I have already paid.
On July 27 I sent a complaint letter to holidayscars to ask a refund of the 421 euros that I have paid more than the initial agreement. I explained them that I was deceived because they didn’t give my money back and I was forced to pay extra money. I also told them that I have received a car that was smaller category than the one I have initially paid (I have taken Lancia y and I have paid for Fiat punto).
holidays car replied me after one month in my letter refused to give me any refund.
I feel deceived from holidayscars because since they couldn’t provide me the service they didn’t return me the money and they didn’t offer me refund for the extra charges I had.
This company is a big scamp when you see holidayscars run away and never loor back , I wonder how come still exist as legal company.
