Beware ! Avoid at all cost!

Other hire companies might be a little bit more expensive but well worth it.

The "relaxed and freindly" approach hides a more cynical side. When I returned my car, I received a bill in the post many days after the event for damage I did not incur.

Try reasoning with them ! Despite many protests they dont listen but simply debit the credit card.

The only way to deal with these guys is to spend your time checking every matter with them in detail - on the start and end of the hire. With this inconvenience - why bother ! Use a more reputable company you can trust.

To add to the annoyance - watch out for the £8 compulsory fuel charge (whether its in the car or not).

I've been to the IOM quite a few times on business of late and the company always book me with one of the local companies which generally only provide average cars and service.

On my last visit I booked my own car and found that the service from Isle of Man Rent a Car was excellent. The staff at the desk were really friendly and engaged me in some playful banter which provided a fun start to my day. The car was clean and tidy, and pretty new, and overall was great value for money. Though I booked by phone and paid at the desk they did tell me to book on their website next time for a better rate. Cheaper than Athol and they had cars available when Athol didn't.

I have used the company a couple of times now through work and will continue to do so whenever car hire is required on the Isle of Man.
