Was Told The Car Was Full On Pick Up, Contract Con
Was told the car was full on pick up, contract confirmed this. Noticed next day only half full. Had to return it full as they held a fuel deposit. It took 27 litres for 69 kms!. When I complained was told that "I was told to return it with the same amount of fuel" A lie. I have been tricked out of 45 euros!! This was Autosmenorca their assosciate company.

Poor Service
Poor service. I had two trolley bags and the guy that drove us back to the airport told me it was not his job to help with the luggage. On arrival he rudely rushed us off the van banging the door and saying he ‘had more customers’ when we knew we were the last except for another couple that has issues with a scratch. Shame as he ruined what had been a positive experience thus far.

Excellent Service, Helpful People.
I have seen some negative reports on this company, and I must strongly disagree.
Their service is excellent, they go out of their way to help and everything is done quickly and efficiently. We arrived at the airport car park at 10pm and were whisked by minibus to their office in five minutes.Paperwork was quickly dealt with and we were on our way.The drop off was the same quick and easy. They were also very good when we left the childs car seat in the minibus, they contacted the shuttle bus driver and he brought it to us very quickly. This is the second time we have used this company and will do so again.

Owners Cars Accused Us Of Damage
We picked up our hire car 12/10/16 and the body was in perfect condition with no marks, dents or scratches. There was nothing noted on the vehicle check sheet, which was correct. When we returned the car on 19/10/16, a very abrupt rude Spanish woman came to check it over. She went straight to the front of the car, bent over and pointed to some scratches underneath the front skirt, which you could not see unless you got down almost on the floor. She said we had damaged it and would be charged. We adamantly denied this, as although we both drove the car, we took great care of it and certainly never touched anything with it. If we had to park up to a kerb, one of us always got out and checked it was not going to touch the car. We know also that if the car had touched anything enough to scratch it as the scratches were quite deep, we would have heard and felt it. She would hear nothing of it and would not let us go until the main driver had signed the paperwork. We were in a hurry to get in the check-in queue to come home, so signed it just so we could get away. We now know this is a regular sham, due to all the other reviews on here, so we now have a battle on our hands with them!
Avoid At All Costs
Owners cars Minorca airport. I never post any feedback ordinarily but we had the worst car hire experience with this firm. I wish I'd read previous reviews as we had a similar experience of everything being fine until we returned the car. We had notified the rep that there were additional scratches to the car on hire, she didn't come to see them. On return she went straight to the front of the car and stated scratches on the front were our fault and when we vigorously challenged this she said we could claim it back on the insurance. I stated I didn't want to be part of what was clearly an insurance scheme. 600 euros was taken from my credit card and I think it's only because we created a fuss it was reimbursed 2 days later. I think this only happened as we'd taken out insurance as I've hired cars all over Europe without insurance and have never had an issue. I have alerted the insurance company to this alarming situation. If you are ever in any doubt take photos of any marks as sadly we didn't and get the rep to witness this.

Long Waiting Time
Arrived at Mahon airport, got luggage almost immediately, went to rental desk and waited over an hour to be served, there was 2 lanes, one was priority for James Villas, nobody was serving in the other queue and while people kept arriving at the other queue she refused to serve us, eventually after 1 hour another woman who was extremely miserable came to serve us. Will definitely not use owners again, I've used 2 other rental companies at this airport and always been served within 5minutes. Staff seriously need training on how to treat customers

Stay Away
I can see a lot is written, but just to add, that I also recomment you to stay away from Ownerscars. Unbelievably poor service. There are hidden taxes as well, which is just awful and the final price is just ridiculous. They customer support is terrible. I returned a car more than two weeks ago and I still cannot get my money back. They told me everything is ok and I should get my money in like 5 mins. Well, after 6 days, they refunded the fuel. But I still cannot get the deposit (800 euros) back. I sent them an email and the reply was even more ridiculous. I sent them quite a long email explaining the situation and that it is quite an inconvenience to hold my 800 euros so long. Reply was:
"Good afternoon,
Pre-authorizations are automatically unlocked from 7 to 10 days after being blocked.
Regards"
Which makes no sense at all. But I guess that's what you call customer support - a standard message for all clients, no matter what I wrote them.
Just, stay away in order to have a nice holiday.
Well, the problem is that I was given three different answers on the matter from their employees.
1) First employee - right away
2) Second employee - 5 mins
3) Third employee via email - 7-10 days
The money are blocked, not charged, but it's been quite a longer period. Also, their mail reply does not make sense, because of two reasons:
1) It is clear in my email that it's been more than two weeks, actually three if as they say we take the moment of the blocking as the start period for the ten days
2) since if they automatically unblock the money after 7-10 days, it means that if I take the car for 11 days, they will unblock their insurance money before they get their car back
And the bigger problem is the customer support. I find it absolutely unacceptable to have a customer complaint and to return a standard email as a solution, without even reading the complaint... That's not how you make business nowadays.
If you paid by credit card, the 800 euros is not a charge on your card but should be what they call a pre-authorisation. Whilst this will reflect your card balance being reduced by the 800 euros, it is in fact NOT a charge and will automatically drop off your account in 7-10 days. It will not appear on your statement unless they choose to charge against that pre-authorisation.
It's a different matter altogether if they've charged your card 800 euros as that is a crime.

Do Not Deal With Them
This review is for Ownerscars at Mahon Airport
I rented this car from 16th to 30th September and went to collect the vehicle at 12:10 on the morning on the 16th September. Upon checking the car there was a lot of damage which had been marked on the vehicle status except for damage to the bottom of the front sill which I took photographs for evidence.
I tried to speak with one of theiragents but the only woman there was very rude and said she was busy. So as I was already late for my appointment due to late flight I had no choice but to leave. I told her I was marking damage on my copy of the form.
Upon return of the vehicle I was met by the same rude woman who didn't say please or thank you. She proceeded to come to inspect the car, however instead of walking round the vehicle she sat in the drivers seat checking the paperwork for what appeared to be 5 minutes. Got out of the car, walked round to the front and pointed out the mark on the front sill (which I had already complained about with the photos when I picked up the car).
She said "it's not on the form you will pay damage". I tried to explain that I had already mentioned this and had photos at which point she got very rude and told me to go away. We all heard her mutter "you English" which is very offensive.
What I also found very odd is she made no attempt to inspect ANY of the exterior of the vehicle.
I have seen a charge for £260 appear on my card which I have immediately placed into dispute as a fraudulent claim. I have excess insurance with another company which I will be using no doubt, but the principle is that they are trying to dupe people.
Top tips, take photos with time/date stamps of the whole car and ensure you have these ready to fight.
As an update note and something that may serve useful, Ownerscars have responded to a complaint of them committing crime and refunded all of the monies they had taken without authorisation.
Whilst this isn't guaranteed and all cases are going to be different, here is what I recommend:
1. Send an email to them
2. Give details of the hire, and the complaint together with photographic evidence. If you are hiring from Menorca airport and a rude spanish woman deals with your return it is highly likely she will try to scam you.
3. Tell them the transaction was not authorised and you will take further legal action
If you do not get things sorted this way, it's on to your credit card company to flag those transactions.
My overriding advice is this. DO NOT USE ANY COMPANY WHO HAS A DESK IN THE AIRPORT. Use local who may charge a little more but you will get a fantastic service from them.

Avoid This Company
I hired a Kia picanto reg 1071-jny on 4th July 2016.i photographed the car on pickup and everything went well until I returned the car on 11th July. The lady ( I use the term loosely ) from the office came out to the bay where I had parked and went straight to the front offside of the car and looked underneath stating that there was massive damage.I had to get down on my hands and knees to see what she was talking about. She knew just where to look and didn't look anywhere else on the vehicle.i advised her in a calm manner that I was not responsible for this damage. She then became racist stating that "you English are all the same. You give us a hard time and cause us many problems" .i advised her that this damage was initially visible unless you you got on all fours and checked underneath the vehicle. Her retort was " if I can see it you can". She then went and brought another employee who verified the damage. The company have now withheld €300 and will advise me of the bill for the damage.I feel that perhaps the car was not checked properly previously and they had to find a fall guy. There is some scheme going on. Be very aware if you have dealings with this company. They are horrendous!
This has just happened to us too. We had a car from them on 12th Oct for one week. When we returned it a rude woman got down and pointed to scratches underneath the front skirt and said we had done it. We KNEW we had not and argued with her. She was adamant we had done it and made us sign damage report. We did not take pictures when picking the car up as it was a nearly new car with no marks or scratches on it anywhere visible on the body. We did not take any pictures on returning it either as again it was in perfect condition on the body. We have had £276 taken off my credit card, and are now going into battle with them!

I've just had EXACTLY the same thing happen to me but I've reported it as fraud - as I have photographic evidence of the damage when I picked up the car. So disappointed I didn't read this first :-(
