Zitauto are continually a very good car hire company. We have been using your company for a long time and have always found you to be excellent - good quality cars, friendly service and very helpful when there is an occasional problem like a flat battery, all at a very competitive price.

Positive Experience For Many Years
I have used Zitauto on at least 30 occassions over the last ten years and have always found them to be the best price, good service and friendly helpful staff. The cars are brought round to you in the car park area and Zitauto use a vehicle as their mobiel offcie as this greatly reduces costs. Zitauto have offices as well in Quarteira and in Almancil. I used Zitauto last week and I am back to the Algarve next week and will use thier services again. Over the years I have also used the other main providers and experienced some difficulties with Hertz/Avis ect so I think overall Zitauto does a very good job.

We Were Given A Car With A Badly Repaired Puncture
We were given a car with a badly repaired puncture, which resulted in a slow puncture and had to replace it with the spare. Upon informing Zit and showing them the clearly bad repair, they still debited my Amex for damage given to us. Will now never use again. Dispute is now in the hands of AMEX.

AT LAST A TRUE CAR HIRE COMPANY NOT A INSURANCE SELLING COMPANY!!!!!!
What a great company just do what they say hire cars no pressure selling of expensive insurance. Just hire the car and go! None of these extras like the big rental company’s.
Easy to find no prepayment just pay good old hard cash on arrival.
Friendly staff and easy no stress instructions.
Why can’t Zitauto be in all countries. Can’t recommend them enough.

Unprofessional/ Illegal Practice
I would advise people to be wary. Zit refused pre-payment via credit card, telling us that they only accepted cash. When we arrived in Faro, a very unpleasant young man insisted on me paying by credit card even though I had brought cash as requested. After passing it through the machine, he then proceeded to write down all my card details, including the 3 digit number, on the contract. He became quite abusive when I told him that it was putting me at risk , especially as the payment had gone through. It became very unpleasant, with him refusing to let us have the car and saying that this was the way things were done in portugal. I have laid a complaint via Visa in Australia, but the upshot was that my card was cancelled and reissued due to the security risk. Zit need to stop this practice and also decide on their method of payment: card or cash. Other staff members were friendly

Found And Returned My Lost Phone Back To Uk
Zitauto operate from the airport car park rather than a smart office inside airport, which is why I think they can offer such good prices. I used them for the first time but on recommendation of a friend who has used them twice a year for many years and has always found them very efficient and reliable and always return full deposit.
We were running late for our return flight and I realised in airport I had lost my phone. When I arrived back in the UK I found an email that was sent whilst I was in departures saying I had left in car.
They then arranged to post my phone back to my home address within a few days and wouldn't let me pay for the postage.
I couldn't be more impressed!

Good Car And Good Price
I was a little worried about what he quality of car would be like given it seems a small company without the safety blanket of a big car hire group. However based on positive reviews and a good price quote I booked an automatic estate for 4 adults and 1 child. The car was in good condition (a few minor scratches and a small dent but nothing major) and was of pretty high spec.
I would definitely go back to this company again. Pick up and drop off was easy and quick.
If they did a deal with a22 toll arrangements that would have been good. Avoided toll on return to airport which added journey time.

I go to Portugal usually twice a year and always use Zitauto. In all the times I have used them I have never had any issue with the quality of service. I would recommend them to anyone looking cat hire in Faro.

Easiest Car Hire Ever
In a word Fantastic. This must be the easiest car hire company in Portugal to hire a car from. Hire price is probably the cheapest you'll find, the car we had was almost brand new with only a few thousand Km on the clock, & there was no selling of extra, (usually very expensive), extra insurance on pickup,so you don't waste time in a massive queue at the pickup desk. To pick a car up you go to the Zitauto meeting point in the main car park at Faro Airport where all the paperwork is already completed from your web booking. Pay the quoted price from your booking in cash & away you go. Bring the car back with the same amount of fuel in it & dropoff is as easy as the pickup. Would recommend Zitauto to anyone.

Cheap, But Good Car Hire!
Hired a 9-seater van. Pick up was simple from the car park as described in the instructions. The car park is a 5 minute walk from the terminal. Staff were friendly and efficient. Vehicle was relatively new and was clean and tidy. Drop off location / car park was easy to find and process was very quick. A very good experience and would recommend.

How do you pay the motorway toll fees if they don’t rent transponders? Thanks
I'm worried about the toll charges as Zitauto don't have transponders fitted to their cars,we are collecting from Faro and driving across to Spain, relatives of mine who have just returned from the same journey say without transponder it means going to post office to pay toll which is 60 miles out of way. Does anybody know any different or alternatives? Thanks
