We have just come back from 2 weeks in Luxor. We had 1 week on a nile cruise which was superb and 1 week in Luxor. We were the first flight into Luxor since the demonstrations and were greeted as long lost family, everywere we went people said thank you for coming. There was no problems at any of the temple sites that we visited just friendly happy faces. The second week in Luxor was just the same, yes you were hassled to buy post cards, scarves, books, bags etc. also to go on a nile falucca, or a horse and carraige but a firm no thankyou was all that was required. It is necessary to remember that there have not been any tourists for 5 weeks so in an area that depends on tourism you have to expect a bit of hassle.Would we go again, definitely, was it value for money, yes. If you are thinking should I or should I not then my advise would take the plung and go, it is wonderful
Holiday Review On Flats In Luxor: Www.flatsinluxor
Holiday Review on Flats In Luxor: www.flatsinluxor.co.uk
We recently had the opportunity to stay in Luxor on a self-catering experience. We chose to stay this time with an English lady and her Egyptian husband who over the past few years have built their own business of flat rentals in Luxor. But this is with a difference. We chose to stay at the Goubli flats on the West Bank of the Nile. They are a short distance from the ferry across the Nile into Luxor. Each flat is light and airy with all the facilities required for either single travel or a family with young or teenage children. There is always a taxi available, someone to help you buy your shopping and cook meals for you. Jane has also installed WiFi for those who just can't keep off the internet at anytime, or want to Skype back to their friends going "nur nur look where we are" !!
What ever you want or need Jane and her husband Mahmoud are there to help you, and make your visit to Luxor one you will never forget.
Their website is flatsinluxor.co.uk or just google flats in luxor and Jane also has facebook pages as well which you can join and see all the updates on new flats and houses being built if you want to return. She also has a really interesting blog as she is lucky to attend many lectures in Luxor through-out the year which keeps any amateur Egyptologist happy for hours!
We will certainly be returning again and we will use Jane and Mahmoud as a base for travels further afield as well.
