Pefkos, Amfitriti Hotel

The Amphitriti hotel and studios are placed off the main road on the way to the beach, so in a quieter location than many of the others.

The family that own the hotel are always available if there are any problems. Our room was a a self catering room and had a 2 ring electric hob, toaster, fridge and all the necessary pots and pans.

The bathroom was a good size with a full size bath with shower over it. The large double bed ( I think it was king size) was a little on the hard side and I did hear people complain about how hard the mattresses were, but this seems to be the same in many Greek hotels and in Tenerife and Lanzarote.

The room was simply but adequately furnished and there were plenty of hangers in the wardrobe.

The cleaner did seem to struggle with her vast work load, some days there were 2 cleaning ladies. Although I believe she did her best to clean the whole hotel, it was fairly obvious she couldn't do this. I really do think they should have at least 1 other if not 2 full time cleaners to ensure standards do not drop and then let the hotel down.

I do agree with a previous review that the towels were a bit hard, but they were clean, however I did have to ask for clean towels after day 4.

The bar area is very clean and tidy and has been recently 're-vamped'. Drinks prices were the same as other bars in the area and food is available at reasonable prices and good quality. My only gripe (and many others whilst we were there had the same gripe) was that the music could be too loud, especially in the evenings when they seem to have football on the t.v and the music on at the same time!

I found the family that owns the hotel Eric, Kate and Demetra to be pleasant and I am a strong believer that if you treat people how you would like to be treated then you should be ok, this was definitely true here. I have no complaints and did not find them to be rude or unaccommodating in anyway. Would I go back here... Yes if the price was right. Did we have a good holiday...most certainly. Would I recommend the hotel to friends and family....yes I would.

If you go remembering that this is a 2* Greek hotel and not some upmarket hotel belonging to a big chain and that it is a typical Greek hotel, you will have a lovely holiday and be absolutely fine. If your looking for more, then pay the premium to get more and move up to at the very least a 4*.

worst place we've stayed in in over 20 years of visiting greek islands at least twice a year. Worst sheets and towels - stiff and smelt like sick. The frostiest Greek staff ever met. If you dont drink or eat at the apartments facilities you are made to feel like a criminal. The one accom would never return to in all the years. Through many years of greek island visits have many Greek friends who have even come over to stay with us in UK. Have never in all our lives met any Greeks like the staff here. Never again!!!

Just returned from this Hotel which has Studio Apartments.

Fab location, really lovely room with all facilities. Large balcony (not much in the way of plates and glasses tho.) Really lovely, clean room although towels were not white although clean (we took our own anyway.)

2 minutes to fantastic beach, 5 (walking) to main street where there are restaurants, nightlife etc although the location of the hotel was quiet. Would go back no problem.

Price of food and drink at bar as same as in other outlets great chips.

Great position between the beach and the main street. Family are fantastic. Food is good. Rooms are very clean. A great place to stay. Shower cubicles are a bit small and awkward to get into. All the staff make you feel at home, the pool area is nice with sun loungers around. We had a great Greek night

This holiday was my husband and myself, and this was the first time we had been to one of the Greek islands.

I would recommend the Amphitriti to anyone wanting a quieter holiday, 2 mins from the beach and 5 mins from the shops and restaurants. We found the owners to be very helpful, polite and fun. The bar staff were great (Costas & Luca) and ended up in the pool most days along with the kids and any adult who acted like a kid - great fun. We had a few meals from the pool bar, all very quick, well laid out, and well cooked, they have a greek night on a Friday with Greek BBQ and greek dancing, this was great fun and we laughed all night long.

We have actually booked to go back in September 2006. Everyone we spoke to during our stay had been to the Amphitriti several times and had booked the following years holiday also. Need I say more.

Pefkos, Amphitriti Hotel - The accomodation was good, cleaners everyday, decent size rooms. We were, however, facing a building site, which certainly was not the best view and the noise was not very pleasent when we where in our rooms, but we stayed out most of the time. The power was also cut off at one point for half the day, which I presume was due to the building. The pool was decent, normal size, a lot of chlorine and very cloudy which was a shame. The pool bar area was handy for snacks and drinks, slightly over-priced however, service abysmal. Basically, the rudness and lack of service from the staff was the only bad point of our holiday and put a dampener of it. I would not return to this accomodation, but the town was great. When people work in the holiday business they should learn how to treat their customers. Everyone else on the island were so courteous and polite.
