Fantastic Location And Staff
The hotel staff are brilliant, friendly and really very helpful. We noticed that they just love young kids at the hotel and made great fuss of them. The rooms are basic but you could rent items if required. Thankfully the rooms have aircon which was a must as there was a heat wave!! Cannot fault the food - great choice and never got bored with it. One strange thing tho was that you could have beer, wine (red, white or rose) with all meals or even champagne but you could not have a cup of tea at lunchtime!!!!
Entertainment was good and varied. In 2 weeks we did not have the same act/show. Word of warning, the young hotel DJ, without being harsh, is not to everyone's taste! We did discover that a lot of people were 'returners' and keep coming back.
Pool is lovely and clean and after initial rush for sun beds (normal) with snack bar and drinks and ice creams available could stay there quite happily all day.
But, one drawback we found was that some parents when they arrived seemed to lose all parental control and let some kids do what they liked as long as 'the don't leave the hotel'. The behaviour of a few did spoil it for the rest with vandalism and loutish behaviour. The hotel should have warned these families that such behaviour was intolerable and perhaps threatened them with eviction. The staff were in a difficult position I appreciate. Seems a bit harsh but due to lack of control will not be going back again - a real shame as was considering taking grand kids there in the future.
Would recommend it to others though as we may just have been unlucky to be there the same time as some of the other 'guests'

Guest At Tropico Playa, Palma Nova. Great Holiday
Just returned from this hotel with my Daughter and 2 Grandaughters. We had a great time. The family room we had was very spacious, with plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. The only drawback was it was up 66 steps [some of them outside] This was not a problem to us, but would have been if my husband was with us, as he suffers from angina. The size of the room and cleanliness more than made up for this.
Location is perfect, just across the road from the beach, plenty of shops bars etc around the hotel, and directly opposite the pier where the boat trips go from.
Food was wonderful, plenty of choice, well cooked and presented. I have stayed in some 4* hotels which dont come up to the same standard.
Drinks. Some nights we had to queue, but mostly this wasnt for long, as they only serve a maximum of 2 drinks at a time.
The main downfall of this hotel is the pool. This was small, but the main thing is the small cramped area around it. We used the beach as it was a stampede to get a sunbed around pool, and if you did you were only inches away from the next sunbed. I would use this hotel again, as I prefer the beach, but would not go there again with my Grandchildren, as they love a pool, and didnt really use this one.
Staff are very friendly, efficient, and helpful. B Colley

I Stayed At The Hotel Tropica In Palma Nova With M
I stayed at the hotel Tropica in Palma Nova with my boyfriend on a half board basis , which to be honest in Palma nova is a must as there are not a great deal of places to eat here. however We had a very nice holiday here. The hotel itself was very smart and the rooms were very comfortable and we were lucky enough to have a sea view, which was a treat to look at each morning!!
The rooms were kept clean and bed linen and towels changed regulary. The food itself in restuarnt was not great to be honest and The owner watched you like a hawk to make sure you were not helping yourself to too much which was a bit off putting.Palma Nova is a pretty place to visit , however there is not a great deal on offer here for young children, although Magaluf is a 15 min walk for teens ect. ideal if u want a quiet break xxxx

Tropico Playa Hotel Is In A Prime Position And Cou
Tropico Playa Hotel is in a prime position and could be the ideal place to stay! Except the food is poor as there is not enough variety for breakfast and does not cater enough for children. The rooms are very tired and often family are in an area with many steps and so buggys become heavy! The pool area is far far too small and the pool itself does not accommodate young children. There is so much potential but not a place for a family as you would need to spend a lot of your budget subsidising food for young children.

Overall, The Holiday Was Excellent, The Location W
Overall, the holiday was excellent, the location was perfect, the staff were always very friendly and the children's entertainment kept my child occupied throughout the holiday. Rooms are air conditioned and the resort is lovely, with plenty of things to do.

It Was The First Holiday For Our Grandchildren, An
It was the first holiday for our grandchildren, and what a fantastic time they had. They both cried when it was time to leave. We will be going back next year. Both my husband and myself have been coming to Majorca for over eight years, and this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in, and the most excellent food we have had. Well done!!!

My Family And I Stayed For 2 Weeks In The Tropico
My family and I stayed for 2 weeks in the Tropico Playa Hotel in September 2004. From the time we arrived to the time we left we had great fun.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful, there was something to do all day long, children were entertained by a great entertainment manager called mano, and he always had time for fun. The evening entertainment was great as too. There was something on 6 nights a week. starting with mini disco time, then bingo later was the entertainment for all the family.
The food at meal times was great a wide range of meats, fish and veg every night. the waiting staff were always smiling and also full of fun.
Everything was so clean and tidy no mater where in the hotel you went.

Just Returned From A Week's Stay At The Tropico Pl
Just returned from a week's stay at the Tropico Playa. Great location yards from the beach. Very clean and tidy, Room excellent, cleaners in every day. Good choice of food both at breakfast and evening meal. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Night entertainment was very variable and on the whole very good. First Choice tour operator "Kat" very helpful and a lovely personality. Went on the 'Son Amur' excursion, a good show but a tad expensive. All in all had a great holiday and would recommend this hotel.
