I Stayed At Manta Lodge Recently, It Was Convenien

I stayed at manta lodge recently, it was convenient because of the dive shop adjacent to it. I found some of the management very rude and really could care less about others staying there. For the most part, the customer service was severely lacking,(though there were a couple of gems, very helpful) especially when youre paying around $100 a night. The dinners on site were overpriced. The owner was not there to oversee what was going on, and cant say if things are different when the boss is on site. The dive shop was a totally different story, friendly, helpful, safe and on time. I would dive there but would never lodge there again.

We Found Manta Lodge Very Very Basic, And We Could

We found Manta Lodge very very basic, and we couldn't tell this from it's website. The rooms our group stayed in didn't resemble anything that is shown on the website.

With improved management, a major overhaul of the bathrooms, deep cleaning, renovation, staff training, this place could be a decent standard. Until then, you have been warned!

The Manta Lodge Is A Bit Off The Beaten Track. Pos

The Manta Lodge is a bit off the beaten track. Possibly too basic for some tastes. Speyside makes "laid- back" seem positively dynamic. Apart from diving and bird watching ( both excellent ) there's not much to do. That may not bother honeymooners unless they are seeking sophistication. Little is available in the shops, there is no chemist or doctor nearby and you have to travel for well over an hour to get to the relatively developed and lively main town Scarbrough. A car is worth hiring but check insurance cover. The dive centre attached to the hotel is small and friendly and the diving was excellent. The currents and rough seas we encountered made us glad to be experienced divers.

There were few residents when I stayed and it is difficult to see how well the hotel would cope when full as there appear to be staffing difficulties
