The Swan Inn at Monks Eleigh is a Three-Star AA gastro pub and was number 58 in the UK Top Gastro Pub Guide last year. Food is sourced locally where possible and the seasonally biased menu is priced to suit most pockets yet remains brilliantly individualistic and superbly presented. The establishment is managed with elegance, style and unflappability yet with steely efficiency. It is patronised by several cognoscenti as well as the fortunate locals and is open most days, except Monday. One can even turn up for fish and chips to take away and die for.
