Avoid Tt, They'll Drain The Best Of Your Money, Patience

Navigating the TalkTalk Tangle: A Grand Adventure at 80!

So, here I am, an octogenarian explorer, weathered by time, battle-scarred by experience, and armed with the uncanny ability to spot a broadband mirage. Three plus years hitched to the TalkTalk rollercoaster, and let me tell you, it's been a ride!

Their internet waltz is a masterpiece, a symphony of drops and disappearances, leaving me hanging for minutes that stretch like a cat's afternoon nap. Day or night, it's an equal-opportunity vanisher. I call 'em up, thinking they hold the secrets of the digital realm, only to be met with bewildered shoulder shrugs. "Fair usage"? Mention that, and you'd think I was waving a red flag at a bull. They steer clear faster than a cat avoiding a bath.

The money game, though, that's their jam. They've got a flawless memory when it comes to your bills, but ask 'em about what they've actually done for you, and you'll get more blank looks than a staring contest champion. It's a monthly ritual, a theatrical performance where they conjure fees from thin air, like pulling rabbits from a hat, only less entertaining.

Now, let's talk customer service – or as I like to call it, the "Delay and Distract Dance." They've mastered the art of scripted evasion, leaving you wondering if they're reading off a teleprompter or just speaking in some secret code. They've got more stalls than a farmer's market, and believe me, they're not shy about using 'em.

To my dear pals at TalkTalk: Save the fake apologies for your grandma's birthday party. I've spent more hours on hold than a teenager spends on TikTok, and sorry, but time isn't a currency you can refund. I've become a master of their repetitive banter, like a jukebox stuck on a broken record, playing hits from yesteryears.

Fellow adventurers, lend me your ears! Time's too precious to be squandered on the TalkTalk circus. Their disruptions are like mosquitoes at a picnic – annoying as heck and draining your energy faster than a toddler on a sugar high. So, fork over a few extra bucks and upgrade to a provider that won't treat you like a tech-illiterate grandparent. Trust me, there's a land of better options out there, and you deserve the royal treatment.

As I bid adieu to TalkTalk, I look back on the countless calls, the scripted tap dance, and the assumption that customers are as gullible as a dog chasing its own tail. This little exposé barely scratches the surface of my escapades. The iceberg of TalkTalk troubles runs deep, my friends, deeper than a mystery novel plot. And as for that single star? Well, let's just say it's shining brighter than a supernova of disappointment.

Diabolical Customer Service

A customer for several years, about to move home filled out the page ;"moving " & gave a date. Unfortunately I had to change that but got a confirmation e-mail so all was well.

Due to a holdup I then had to phone talk talk as my move date had altered again, (joys of house selling U.k)! Spoke with them I asked that everything stayed as normal as things were up in the air..confirmed again by e-mil except for an incorrect date.

^ days later my BB was disconnected on the original move date given i.e the web page changer did not work?

Then after trying tp phone , 20 minutes to half an hour wait normal.. I confirmed again that I did not habve a new move date please reconnect BB & leave as normal until I notify.

Confirmation e-mail arrived with the amended date 12th March ? NO no no. Rang again when suddenly my phone line was disconnected 3 days after BB disconnected???

I rang again after a 4 yes FOUR hour marathon I got nowhere, stupid apologies but no action.. I finally lost it & now use NOWtv ...excellent .!!! Based in N Ireland, helpful quick super BB speeds & you actually get through to someone who speaks English. They ook only 6 days for a new set up. £22 p/m GOOD eh?!

I wouldn't touch Talk Talk again ever.

Don't Use Talk Talk.

Went from Virgin to Talk Talk on February 7th, All went well until the 11 of Feb, Phone line dead but internet working. Contacted Talk Talk who checked phone line through their system, which I had done myself, it showed no faults. On the 11th feb contacted them four times by chat line and twice through mobile got no advice or help, just went round in circles checking phone line. 12the Feb contacted via chatline 5 times, No Joy. Feb13th spoke again by mobile and asked where they were situated answer South Africa, told them I wanted to speak to someone in United Kingdom, told they have no call centres here only in South Africa and Manilla. Told them I wanted to Cancel Phone and Broadband and was given a number to contact engineer, who told me it was already booked. Fine I thought two days later still no sign of anything happened. Phoned South Africa said I definitely wanted to can system. Cancellation wanted to charge £141.60. cancellation fee, II said so you want charge me a £140.60 for something i do not have anyway they eventually realised they would not get that payment and they could take me to court. Not bad for a company who has no contacts in UK. I have now gone to BT phone, Broadband plus 500 minutes free landline calls for only £29.99 plus £19.99 connection fee. I would not advise anyone to use TAK TALK because my experience was that could not talk to anyone. Would have given no stars bbut it's not allowed for.

Untrustwothy

I had no option but to switch my broadband with them and complained they'd hiked up the cost. Having to do without the service for 4 days as they say they 'need time', despite 2 weeks notice of switch? I've now received an email saying that 2 weeks isn't enough notice and there will be a delay!

My boyfriend also had the same problem when he tried to switch and 1 year later they are still sending him bills for a service that they HAVEN'T provided. They continued to make excuses after excuses and their 3 engineer actually cut the line then said an outside issue? They have sent debt collector's letters to him and threaten court action. Thankfully, we had kept all emails and other correspondence that proved he had not received the service that they were charging.

Hate this company absolutely horrific to try and deal with; no faith in getting the set up sorted.

Took My Money For 4 Years And Nothing Ever Worked!!

I moved into a new property that I bought a while ago. The only company due to me living in a rural location that could offer broadband at the time was talk talk. I paid over the odds for broadband phone and line rental and even though I must have logged over 50 calls in the first 18 months of having the service they didn’t sort the problem. The minute sky came into the area we changed, they realised that the line we were on was faulty and replaced over 12 miles... yes miles of cable free of charge with BT Openreach, not sure why talk talk couldn’t have done this. I do believe that I should have been given a refund but it came on deaf ears. Do not ever ever use this service if you don’t have a brand new line!!!! Service is 4/10 most calls come on deaf ears and never offer any sort of refund or customer satisfaction surveys disgraceful.

A Cheaper Tariff Is Available And Talktalk Kept Ch

A cheaper tariff is available and TalkTalk kept charging me for landline phone calls and today is the last straw as they charged me £5.12 for a 40 minute call started at 6:30pm and said it costs 12p per minute!!! Every opportunity taken to take money from customers. Disgusted at this deceitful treatment.

I Wish

I wish

I wish, I wish, I wish I had read Review Centre before I signed up with TalkTalk for phone and broadband. I have had intermittent broadband for coming up a month now, that is it just goes off for up to half an hour at random times, and I am bombarded with err timed out and err connection reset.

I started to email them on the 2nd June, I cannot talk for any length of time due to a medical condition, and I had to go to an OUTSIDE agency, to find an email address.

I have had, now, 24 yes 24 emails from them, signed by each time, what looks to be 24 different Nigerians, for example NOMALONGO ZONDO??

are they for real.Anyway, I had somebody calling themselves "customer complaints" phoned me yesterday on my home phone, and then on my mobile, all this despite me telling them I cannot speak, and when I got home, number 25 email is waiting, I still have intermittent broadband, and am still bombarded with err timed out, and err connection reset.

8 months to go before I can switch

Awful

Terrible Internet connection, constantly drops out and sometimes for hours at a time. Considering we supposedly live in a digital age, I most certainly am not. Thankfully 02 have a good deal on their mobile data, otherwise I would be paying a fortune for my phone bill as well as paying for Internet that works for only 50% of the time

Happy Now That My Contract Ended

Fibre broadband averaging 9mb sometimes dropping to as low as 5mb no good if streaming tv .

Talk Talk sale team advised me to upgrade to the 76 mb fibre package for only £10 a month .

What's the point upgrading when they could not even give me even close to the 38mb as advertised package .

The broadband fibre may have been 'Free ' BUT it was Slow, throttled & constant disconnections

Corrupt Firm, Led By Liars & Cheats

The TalkTalk website states that they reply to complaints within 7 days. They also say that the customer can choose whether TT should reply to their complaint by phone OR in writing. But their so-called policy is false.

In phone calls of previous weeks, TT staff have repeatedly said that TT only reply to complaints by phone; they do not want to put anything in writing. They shamelessly prevaricate and distress their customers, just as they have done with me, even though they know I'm very ill and unable to cope with their broken agreements, harassment.

6 weeks since my complaint was sent by 1st Class Recorded Delivery, and they still have not replied in writing - instead, they have harassed me by phone!

This is how the Chairman made his £millions! Shame on him and his CEO for leading and directing their staff in such a disgusting and disgraceful way!
