Waste Of Money

I have had a DC07 upright for some years. It cleaned well but when it went faulty I bought a DC19db to replace it. I thought it would be easier to use. Big mistake - It is useless. It does not even lift fluff off a carpet and cleaning stairs is very awkward. My carpets got duller as they were not being cleaned properly. Luckily I had kept the old DC07 and even though it has a fault I used it, and the carpets now look much cleaner and brighter. I have ordered a replacement part for the DC07 so the DC19, which is relatively new will go to its final resting place - the dump! I am not impressed Mr Dyson.

Not Impressed

recently bought a Dyson DC19 to replace a Samsung. wish i hadnt bothered. its heavy, awkward, cumbersome and i find it pushes fluff and dust etc around the floor instead of sucking it up. to empty is also a pain. im frightend of breaking it trying get it apart. a lot of money. thinking of getting my old Samsung out of the shed!

Big Disappointment!

A month ago I purchased a Dyson, DC19 T2, after giving my Miele canister vacuum to my daughter. After years of having either Sebo or Miele vacuums (real work horses!) I decided to try a Dyson. BIG mistake, especially since it cost £35.00 more than replacing my Miele. It is very "plasticy" and cheap feeling - not solid at all. The foot pedal to switch from floors to rugs is useless. I am not big/heavy enough for it to work with my foot - it is very fiddly. Therefore, I must stop vacuuming and use both hands to move the mechanism. I have a combination of hardwood floors and area carpets so very inconvenient. The cord is stiff and does not easily pull out while moving the vacuum along. Due to this, the machine catches on corners and again, time consuming to stop and pull it along. The floor attachment only has suction in the middle, not all the way out to the ends - poor pick up on corners on tile/wood floors. Additionally, the cord is quite short, much shorter than any machine I have had in the past. I am truly sorry I switched to a Dyson and will go back to Miele or Sebo if I need another vacuum in the future.

Don't Buy The New Ball Dyson

I have owned Dyson since the very first model still have it and love it. I tried to buy another but it was replaced by an inferior design - in every way PLUS my wrist aches as I vacuum and it twists and turns on the ball. I therefore rarely use it.

Also it sometimes takes three go overs to get a piece of lint!

I am now looking to buy a couple of reconditioned first models like I have. While a bit difficult to push they have incredible suction and really groom the rug thoroughly.

If I use this one I truly risk carpal tunnel problems and that would take forever to heal having had it before.

Buy another brand. This is a rip off.

Dyson Let Down

I have used Dyson products for many years and have been very happy with them. When I saw the DC19T2 Multifloor advertised at what I thought was a very good price, I jumped at the chance to buy one. I came to realise that the cleaner did not have the turbine head that I had with every other Dyson that I’d ever used. This made what is a potentially good product into just another mediocre vacuum cleaner. There is a turbine head for the DC19 but that’s another £55 so what was an expensive item (although I gladly paid it in anticipation of the quality I had come to expect) now becomes a really expensive item. My advice to Dyson is offer the head to disappointed customers at cost price and gets some good will back.

I Thought Dyson Was The 'best'

Such a disappointed dyson owner, even though it was on sale my DC19 was still expensive for me. I thought i was getting a bargain. but it is useless on carpet, you would think any hoover you buy could clean a carpet or mat!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Sad Dyson owner!! Will need to buy cheap hoover for upstairs in house:-(

Heavy, Inefficient, Expensive

Dyson DC19 T2

This vacuum cleaner is too heavy for the average woman, it pushes the dirt round in front of the brush and you will have to lift the head to pick up the dirt, I now use a broom, brush and dustpan most of the time, very awkward to manipulate especially from room to room better to carry it through doorways or chip all the paintwork. Storage is a nightmare you need a massive cupboard or a room all to itself. I live in a bungalow so stairs are not a problem, but I imagine that it would be very difficult on stairs as the hose does not stretch at all. Mine came with 6 different attachments with no explanation as to their use, and I have only ever used 3 of them. It is not very easy to change from the long tool to little tools and they do not have very good suction, on which is supposed to extend to enable access tbehind radiators collapses as soon as you push it in a narrow space. In short this is a very expensive large room ornament.

Fantastic Vaccuum Cleaner, Well Worth The Money

This is the second Dyson we've purchased now, the first was an upright which had many problems; the motor had to be replaced (under warranty), 2 hoses split and 2 stair tools snapped so we gave up on Dyson for a few years as the ongoing costs and hassle just didn't seem worth it.

I'm delighted that we decided to give Dyson another chance with this cylinder cleaner because it has exceeded expectations! We decided to replace our basic bagless cylinder vaccuum with the DC19T2 as the DC26 seemed too small and others seemed a bit too big for our house.

The DC19T2 is a little on the heavy side but overall not too big. We bought the Comet exclusive model which came with 4 tools in addition to the multi-floor head. Unfortunately though you can only store 2 tools on-board with a clever clip-on bracket, but that said we are not likely to use the 2 additional brush tools as much as the 2-in-1 crevice/brush tool and the stair tool.

Some other reviews seen elsewhere mention it's difficult to manoeuvre and when you pull it along it falls backwards. We've found moving it about no problem and only if you yank it will it fall back so it's really down to proper handling!!

The suction on both hard floors and carpets has been far better than any other cleaner we've had and the proof was in the bin after the first time the Dyson was used. There was clearly very fine particals (looks like powder or fine sand) which was obviously deeply routed in the carpet which previous vaccuuming had left behind because we'd not seen as much as this before!!

We really couldn't recommend this vaccuum highly enough! :)

Good On Hard Floors But Useless On Carpets

For the cost of the Dyson DC19 I would expect better design. The suction is good and the flat head works well on hard floors. On carpets, particularly short pile it, would be quicker & easier to go around on my hands & knees with a dustpan & brush. There are no brushes on the head and I end up feeding any fluff & hair into the head by hand. I am thinking of buying a turbo head but bit of a joke having to pay another £50 to get an expensive vacuum to work on carpets! Also the accessories are not well designed, very awkward to do the car due to angle of parts and using the upholstery head there is a bit sticking out which means it has to be put on sideways or held at a very awkward angle to get it flat. Never had this problem on any other vacuum cleaner, I really think the designer must have had a major excess of wine or something before working on this machine.

Hi Have Used This Dyson Hoover For Nearly 12 Month

Hi have used this Dyson hoover for nearly 12 months at my work place..It has caused me to have major wrist problems as the handle is not ridged and your wrist is constantly moving from side to side..Now having to wear a wrist support now due to the pain I have been in. I use a Dyson animal (not ball) at my own home and have never had any problems..I think a health warning should be put on this hoover !!!
