Dyson Stowaway DC20 Bagless Canister Cyclonic Vacuum

don't buy this cleaner for pile carpets, pretty poor. OK for laminate floors etc and furniture, curtains etc

This is a very easy to use compact cleaner. I find it light weight and easy to maneuver around the house. The suction power is excellent and the filter is no problem to clean, which if you forget to clean it does lose power as you would expect. I bought mind from currys as I searched on the internet and found it to be on offer here when I bought it. I'm very happy with this hoover and would definitely recommend.

1 day in the life of a Dyson DC20 ............ Stop now, DONT buy one !

For many years I have happily driven a Miele around my the house and been chuffed to bits with it. I was however lured by Sainsbury's half price offer ( 50%) off. So that was 50% off and it was a Dyson ( me thought I couldnt go wrong).

Couldnt wait to get home with my DC20 ( its a man thing!)

Having put it all together, I gave it a test drive; the telescopic tube is so big that I almost sucked up the sofa and the dog. You will need both hands on it as its like trying to manipulate a firemans hose ( if you know what I mean). It was good on wooden floors but totally useless on carpets. Then trying to use the attachments was a nightmare, the hose needs half the street to help with the cleaning.It you have stairs youll need to have skills of a world class gymnast, cleaning, holding the dyson and trying to use the tools is more dificult than eating an apple through a straw. Gave up and took it back to Sainsbury's. Reported it as a complete waste of money although in theory not faulty... just useless. Sainsbury's were very understanding and gave me my cash back. Therefore one award for Sainsbury's and an apology to Miele... Ill never desert you again. Cant wait to get my new miele... im soo excited. ( ps) the sucking power on my broken miele still out sucked Dyson by 75% ish. Good luck with your cleaning in 2010 but dont buy a Dyson DC20. Ps Mr Miele,any chance of a discount voucher on my next purchase.

Good vacuum on hard floors - tile and wood, but useless on rugs or carpets. I need to use 2 different vacuums to get everything done. I don't recommend this vacuum.

Looks good but doesn't get the carpets clean.

I used to have an old model Dyson Stowaway DC20 and although it was brilliant all the small plastic parts broke one after the other. Last year I bought an electolux thinking they had caught up with the cyclonic technology... Big mistake, I then tried my friend's Henry and it was just a waste of space with bags and awkwards in stairs! So I invested again in Dyson Stowaway and I am hooked.

I have a large dog and need to vacuum every other day and they is nothing like it. I do not have the animal model but it works just as well. Plus I have had it for a year now and have not broken a single part! Go for it!

The Dyson Stowaway DC2 comes definitely recommended. It's amazingly powerful and efficient..thought my home was clean till I ran the Dyson over it, it's also super compact and looks great.also use it for the car with no problems.

The Dyson Stowaway DC20 is heavy to carry on the stairs mine falls off the step- hot air blows in your face. the telescopic hose keeps collapsing. Storing the attatchments on the hose is rubbish keeps getting in the way. Got the original cylindrical dyson was dyson through and through. Bought this one cause old one on last legs -realised pretty quickly new one not as good as old one I was replacing and still isn't. The original dyson was far superior

This DC20 stowaway is my fourth Dyson and I will never buy another one! I didnt read the views before (which I regret). The DC20 is too heavy, and really awkward, doesn't sit on the stairs (it has fallen down them about 6 times) and each time I'm hoping it has broken so I will be forced to buy a different machine but after paying a lot of money only 3 months ago cannot justify spending the money again! The tools are useless as well. My first Dyson which I got about 13 years ago was a much better machine. Wish I had never bought this one!

My Dyson Stowaway DC20 is a great hoover that doesn't blow dust everywhere. Good for getting place cleaned up as it nice and powerful and looks neat
