Eureka 8800-8849 Upright Vacuum Cleaner

its incredibly loud - you need earplugs - hoses always get clogged, plastic parts break easily, and the belts break continously.it makes me angry how poorly designed this machine is. i'll never buy a eureka product ever again.

This vacuum is very heavy and difficult to maneuver. When using the hand held attachments, dust particles are extruded through the air from the exhaust. I cover this exhaust tube with a piece of cheese cloth to prevent dust from escaping into the air. Today I tried to change the belt. I've spent over an hour trying to loosen the screws to access the belt and have had no luck. It is definitely not user friendly. I would definitely not recommend this vacuum and regret the purchase.

2 and 1/2 years and the motor died. Prior to that, without knowing up front,the filter runs $30 and is supposed to be changes semi-annually. That's 60 a year for filters on an inexpensive vacuum.

Me and my fiancé actually bought the Eureka 8810 vacuum Fromm my sister because she had received 2 vacuums from her bridal shower and decided she was going to return this one. I read everybody comments about and the only thing I've ever had that matched was that the house would come unattached while I was vacuuming. It hadn't happened often, but I'm pretty sure all I did was just make sure it was firmly reattached and that's it. Aside from that, my only issue is that I feel like we go through fillers very quickly. We do own a dog and a cat, but the filter says TI replace every 3-6 months and I think that if it ever gets to 3 months I'm surprised. And the filters aren't cheap either. We're talking between $30-40 and they asst absolutely impossible to find. I didn't understand why a company can't just work the old filters into designs for new vacuums? Think of the money THAT would save the company! I've never needed customer service so that's why I only gave 1 star for that but aside from the filter issue that's about it.

Oh, there was one time that the house clogged but that was because the bin was full and I didn't realize it so everything backed up into the hose.

I just don't get why nobody can make a descent vacuumm.

this one really disappointed me. I have several broken parts and have owned it for less than a month. this thing clogs all the time, the height adjustment wheels just broke off, the chord wrap supports broke the first day and this thing is so loud I can't stand it.

I've had this vacuum for about six months and I have had nothing but problems with the machine. Firstly dirt constantly gets clogged in the hoses and you have to go in manually to remove the congestion.

The second issue is that the compartment that holds the roller broke so now I can not use the vacuum because there is no way to keep the roller in place.

The third issue is the overall design. It is extremely difficult to take off the bottom plate when replacing the belt due to the fact that screws are hard to take off because of the location and they are deep down in the vacuum.

Not a good vacuum, do not buy.

Have had this this model less then one month the thing is falling apart first the dusting brush broke then the cord rap....Whats next??? Called support no help said my issues were due to unproper use??WHAT?? Only have use 3 times!! DO NOT BUY WASTE OF MONEY!!!

I bought it to replace my old bag vacuum.

140 bucks. What a complete waste of my money.

It is so loud that my ears ring. I had to wear plugs to do the house and put the cats in a separate room as to not hurt their hearing.

Mine cannot do more than a few feet without the hair, small amounts, clogging the thing. Which makes it even louder.

Mine seems as loud, if not louder, than a lawnmower engine. Add to that the small space in the room and you have something to throw away.

(I bought it a few months back and finally got around to unpacking it, so no return).

I just bought this Eureka 8800-8849 vacuum the other day and after 30 minutes of the first try. It was no longer operable. Basically some hair got tangled around on the endcap of the roller and burnt up whatever adhesive or fitting was on the end cap of the roller. So the roller will not operate without making a loud obnoxious noise at it will rattle around when operating. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Eureka, is this a flaw in the design?Is this not a defect with the product? I rate a 0 becuase I haven't had a chance to use it. How can I rate something that I cannot use after this first try.
