Great Vax
Has been the best vacuum I've had really powerful. Sometimes suction is to good. I have not had a bad experience unlike others reviews.

Filter Issues
Purchased mine not more that two months ago. If you decide to purchase this model, do yourself a favour and take it out of the box and check the filters. The one on the back of mine is not the same shape as the one in the replacement filter pack that you can purchase. It means that you cannot replace this filter. This is the first time my retailer has come across this problem. I do wonder how many others out there have the same problem but have not purchased a new filter kit yet to find out. Have had to return my vacuum cleaner for further investigation.

Absolute Pile Of Junk!
I totally agree with all of the bad reviews, this cleaner is the worst one I have ever owned and I really cannot believe that it made it through quality control at Vax
It blocks every time you use it, whilst emiting the most terrible screeching noise. There is a design fault with the filter as it just does not fit at all and even though I clean it out after every use, it smells awful aswell. The final straw was when it tipped over and would not start again so my husband took it apart and couldn't believe how flimsy and badly assembled it was. Its now in the garden, waiting to be dumped at the tip and its less than 18months old!!!!

Absolutely Useless
Purchased the Vax Power 7 and never reviewed. Absolutely waist of time blocks up ever time you use it and falls over so easily. I went on the website and vax agreed it was a design fault but never offer to replace or upgrade. Dyson for me and told family and friends never to buy a Vax product.

Powerful But Design Faults
Bought for a house with 2 dogs. On the plus side, it is powerful. Really powerful.
Downside is that has some design issues. The hose is too flimsy and prone to kinking of you're not careful. The attachments are on some assembly that clips to the pipe. Ours lives in the cupboard. Other brands manage to fit them onboard. The retractable cord on mine has become unreliable and winds itself in while in use.
Then the most serious fault: The pre-motor filter. It is a large circular filter but the orange outer ring is too flimsy and it pops up meaning dust goes into the motor. If you leave it like that then the motor will burn out. I am buying a replacement filter on amazon and I'm intenting cutting the orange part from the old one to reinforce the new one. So I'm re-engineering it.

Do Not Buy
This was purchased at Xmas this year it has blocked with every use I phoned vax in July 14 and they said there was a problem, with the design, I am not an engineer but even I could see there was no way the dirt could suck into the tub,as it clogs around the filter, if vax have been making hovers for years how did they not notice this in production, and the utensils that stay on the tube fall off when in use

Had Not Problems Can't Believe What Others Been Writing
NOT AS BAD AS WHAT IS POSTED
After reading all the bad reviews I thought I mite add my 2 cents.
Yes it could have been made better as in the parts if you twist the nossle the wrong way it will make a high pitched screaming noise. However I have two cats and it cleans up pet hair like nothing before.
Used in a share house of young people it was given the name "the jet" and great that it can be used on the bed and couch turn the power down can clean fly screens.
Super easy the take apart the kids can do it and I just sucked up a sock got it out in under 30sec WOW. Haven't had it brake like people been posting maybe they need to not be so rough with it and I tend to brake a lot of things.
Also gets 5 stars for when an old house mate took it out side to suck up SAND & ROCKS guess what it still goes hard! Had this product for almost a year now and the only problem is I cant find where I put some attachments.
I repeat it's SOCKS & ROCKS PROOF.
Make your own mind up about this product but after I read some of the reviews on here I had to write one that wasn't negative.
The Best Product To Buy The Kids When They First Move Out Of Home
(At least if it brakes it's an excuse not to buy them anything els)

1st Class Rubbish Vacuumcleaner!
Seems good the first times you use it but very soon the problems start...every square meter you have to clean the filter as it blocks (in a normal household with no exceptional stuff that we vacuumclean!). The filter is not easy to replace, the cap doesn't fit really well, the plastic thing to open the cover is very light plastic. What is a vacuumcleaner of which you have to empty the filter after every two minutes??? Now the filter is dirty and starts to be broken on the sides...the dirt stays in and no washing helped for that. Rubbish machine first class! Never a Vax for me anymore as I see a LOT of negative comments (only negative to be honest)

Worst Vacuum Cleaner I've Ever Bought
This is the worst vacuum cleaner I've ever owned. The first one stopped working after only 3 uses. The filter blocked very quickly and even after extensive cleaning still didn't work properly. The manufacturer refused to give a refund and instead sent a replacement which is exactly the same. Vac still refuse to acknowledge the problem or give a refund despite this machine being unfit for purpose.
I have now given up. It's going in a skip and I'll buy a Henry.

Unreliable Rubbish - Do Not Buy!!
I originally bought the VAX Power Pet 6 in August 2012 which came with a 2 year warranty - just as well!
After about 3 months, it started overheating and the blockage light wouldn't go off, despite the filters being thoroughly cleaned every week.
I received an "upgrade" to the Power 7, which burned out after about 5 months! Received another replacement Power 7 which lasted about the same length of time before the motor burned out!!
Have now received 4th replacement, however, my home help is reluctant to use it as the last two smelled of burning and sounded like a jumbo jet taking off!!
This machine is used only once a week by professional cleaner and the filters are cleaned after each use, which is a nuisance in itself. The various filters clog up quickly and are difficult to access for cleaning.
N.B. Attachments are not replaced with new machines even when under warranty!
WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
