Used To Be A Great Company
Their prices have sky rocketed, I mean tripeled for one item no less and It now reads Speigel on their website. This is not the same Newport News clothing company I once knew. I used to get catalogs in the mail and the clothes were beautiful and then after a while they stopped coming so I called for a catalog and they sent it but then never sent another for the following month and then I called again but they never sent any catalog. I just went on the site, what happened to this company? Wow, what a shame. Somebody I feel bought this company, well I will not shop there. Im shredding their credit card after I finish writing this review.

Used To Be Good Clothing Not Anymore!!!
I have purchased many clothes through Newport news. This past year things started noticably being inferior and very cheap looking.
I ordered a $80 blouse that when I received it was the cheapest fabric I have ever seen. It has a pattern that makes it look nice on the model but in reality is garbage. So I did not like it but sometimes that happens.
Next blouse that came I wore to my work in an office. Next day I had a slight rash on my neck, next day it was everywhere the blouse touched my skin you could see the outline of my bra it looked very bright red like a sunburn bad sunburn. But I did not go in the sun at all.
I was going on vacation and thought it would just go away if I took some allergy medicine and cream on it. NOOOOOOOO it got worse extremely itchy and I got secondary skin reaction to it. My skin could not stand anything on it painful and ithy. I couldn't even move. I had to go to the Urgicare where I was vacationing and receive steriod shots and medicine. The Dr. said it looked like a chemical burn. Now I am still healing, my vacation was shot with my grandchildren as I could not move being in pain. UGH!!
Lesson I have learned is I will never buy anything from Newport News again.
I used to recommend them to everyone when they saw me wearing something they liked. No Longer. I have pictures of where the shirt touched my skin you can see the waist tie that is exactly where it was on me.
Horrible Horrible!!! I will not recommend their clothes ever again. I do not know who the suppliers are but obviously it is not quality controlled.
Awful Return Policies/inconsistent Sizing For Same Products
The worst return policy in the country. Their sizes are absolutely unreliable and vary on the identical product from job lot to job lot -- yet the customer has to pay for it. My first order of size M leggings were perfect. The next of order of size M leggings were extremely tight. I shouldn't have ordered the following year but I did -- and the same leggings in M were so large they were swimming on me. (And no, my own weight/shape hasn't changed.) They have no policy for exchanges. In the return I lost $15 -- about $9 for the original postage and an additional $6 for a "restocking fee." They made $15 and I have nothing! I'd definitely stay away from the company!

Newport News Catalog Stole My Money
This company has stolen so much money from so many people it is obscene. I ordered from them in February of 2012. They sent me a portion of my order and not the other half. However, they debited my account for ALL of the money. I called them to let them know I did not get the entire order. The less than enthusiastic customer service represntative told me that they did not have the rest of the merchandise and I would get a refund. I did not. A month later, I wrote to them and also filed a complaint with the BBB. They promised I would get my money within 2 weeks. I did not. I wrote to them again. I was given another promise. I still did not get my money. In the meantime, I checked other review sites and found that I was not the only person whose money was stolen by Newport News. It is now May 2012 and I still have not gotten my money back. They have also ignored the BBB. I am now going to take this to small claims court. I work very hard for my money and I refuse to allow any company to steal it from me. If other victims are reading this, please post. I am trying to mobilize all the people who are owed money by this company to take action. I will not be a victim.

Worst Customer Service Ever
I made an online purchase from Newport News on Dec 6th, 2011. When I did not get any kind of shipping notice after a week I checked my order status on the website. It said the order was still \"processing\" so I contacted them via the customer service link on their site. I never got a response, so I called. I was told that they had moved their warehouse and all orders were delayed. No one could tell me when my order would ship, but I was told that they would send it expedited shipping when it did ship.
I waited a couple of weeks more, checked the order status via the site (still \"processing\") and wrote customer service again. Never got a response. Called, and was told the same thing about the warehouse moving, etc etc.
Here it is mid Jan, and I go and check the website and it actually says my order shipped! Hurray! So I wait a 2 more weeks, and nothing. I go to the site, and there is a link in my order status to \"Track Shipping\"- but there is no tracking number...nor is there even a shipping date! I write customer service again (at this point just for s&!ts and grins, knowing I won't get a response, which I didn't) and then call.
The person I got on the phone this time stumbles through a bunch of questions then informs me I am being issued a refund. When I ask why- he can't tell me. When I ask to talk to his supervisor, he told me to call back. Which I did, hoping to get someone who wouldn't OBVIOUSLY be making things up as he goes along. This time I was told that I was being issued a refund because my \"shipment was lost\". I was told I will receive my refund in 7-10 working days. Riiiight. I'm not holding my breath.
I will NEVER order from this company again. Never received ANY responses to my inquiries to customer service, was given the run around whenever I spoke with someone on the phone, and after 2 months of waiting and being told numerous stories, I am not even receiving what I purchased. How this company is still in business is beyond my comprehension.

Terrible Customer Service!!!scann And Still Missing My Order
I was very disappointed with this company, I paid $23.99 for the shipping with very slow delivery.I received my order after 14 days and found out 2 pieces of my order missing, called customer service 4 times and nobody helped me out, I requested to talk to a supervisor, they answered there are 5000 people waiting before me to talk to the supervisor or manager!!!!means I will never have anybody can solve my problem, it has been over 2 months, still didn't receive my missing order and of course no refund!! scam company, don't buy anything from them!!
After I read the other reviews, I feel better!! Obviously I am not the only one get robbed by this company, but if you will still keep shopping with them after read our reviews, you will be the idiot!!!

Customer Service Nightmare!
Before my items even arrived (ten days late), my checking account was overcharged for the order. All attempts to work this out with customer service were in vain. At one point I was told the only way I could get someone to even look into the issue would be if I were to place ANOTHER order ("just something small would be fine"), so they could generate another customer order number as the previous one had been wiped out by a computer issue! Upon receipt of the order I returned it immediately. After another 14 days I called again and was told that the returns dept had computer problems and it could take up to 30 days for the return to be processed. I left 7 messages for a supervisor(incl one to corporate Atremiss) NONE were ever returned. at one point a customer service rep stated that if I was going to be such a "B--ch") about $210, then I shouldn''t be shopping"!

No Longer Good....service Stinks!
They used to be a good catalog/mail order store, but no longer. I recently bought an item in two different colors and received two in the same color. They won't do a straight exchange...you have to return the item and order another. If you return it using their return label, they deduct $6.95 from your refund. Considering it's their mistake, that sucks! If you still want the item you ordered in the first place, you have to pay shipping again! If you don't think this is right and try to call....forget about it! I finally hung up after TWO HOURS on hold! This is the last time I order anything from them!

Worst Customer Service Ever!!!!!
RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BAD BUSINESS ETHICS!!!! I ordered items and checked and paid for 3 day express delivery. First I emailed them to find out and I got a response saying email was down, then I called 4 times, first time on hold for 17 minutes, 2nd time 22 minutes, 3rd time 14 minutes and then finally the 4th time they answered. The lady told me that my item was not express delivery even though I had an email that confirmed I paid for express. Then I told her it was incorrect and she stated there was nothing she can do about it and oh well, even thought I told her I need it by this weekend. I told her I need the clothes and asked her if she thought this was good business ethics and she didn't answer and hung up on me. I spent $200 and this is the customer service I get. HORRIBLE. Will never shop here again. EVER.....
