I Would Like To Highlight The Rubbish Service I Received
I would like to highlight that I ordered 1200 xbox live points from Game today. I wrote a review which stated that even though the points are supposed to be a download sometimes the code is shown instantly, other times you have to wait ages for an email with the code in. I wrote that it should be displayed clearly that the code would not be received instantly and had I known this I would've ordered elsewhere.
Strangely enough my order was then instantly cancelled even though the points still show as in stock and my review rejected.
Grow up 'Game' it is only fair to be able to leave a perfectly clean and honest review as a purchaser from your site to allow others to consider before buying.
Dispicable childish customer service, and not an 'instant' download of microsoft points.

Well doesn't surprise me the one star reviews
I placed ordered got order confirmation , it was at a low price so wanted to grab a bargain for Xmas. Then got 2nd email confirming that the price had changed on the website but they would honour the price stated originally.
Next the order was cancelled due to 'security issues' and then when I questioned this I was told it had been advertised at wrong price and dispite an email confirming the would honour price dispite the change they now won't
Scandalous customer service.....this company will go in the same direction as comet soon

Gamestation Welwyn Garden City
Another bad experience with gamestation welwyn garden city, which has prompted me to write this review. I saw Ghost recon at £18 online (gamestation.co.uk), and when I went to the store it was £29 !!
Instead of acknowledging and apologising, the main guy (with specs) said it's a pseudo website as now there's nothing called gamestation and it's been taken over by game, hence the price is wrong on the website.
Just placed an order successfully on gamestation.co.uk and no where did I get any hiccups, but it's been a waste of my time queing up and then getting a good-for-nothing response.
The stores are the physical manifestation of the brand - someone up in the management of Game should read this if they need to recover!
I think you miss the point - is eminently cheaper to sell from an online shop than from a bricks-and-mortar retailer, which requires staff, light, heat and prime real estate to operate from. Plus most online retailers are based offshore, allowing further savings from the UK tax system (cf Amazon). The response from the staff member was pretty pathetic, but then he's probably on £18k a year and not really interested. But not surprising it's cheaper online than in store, even if it's from the same retailer.

Utterly Appalling
I ordered a game for my grandson. Five days ago I was told it had been despatched but no tracking code. 3 emails unanswered. Tried to phone but after 30 mins at 10p/min nobody answered.
This outfit took over 'Gameplay' based in Leeds. You got your games the next day and the guy that ran it ran a Ferrari and good luck to him as he deserved it.
AVOID GAMESTATION LIKE YOU WOULD THE PLAGUE.

Customer Service More Like Insulting Service
i bought a game from gamestation and was told that it was within the 10 day returns policy which was good in my opinion since the game i was buying was for my nephew, but a day later i found that he was not able to play the game so i took him in to swap it, i was then told that the game was not going to be swapped and it was not under the 10 day exchange policy and for a game i bought for £44.99 they offered me £20 for it.
after contacting customer service they told me they would offer me £37.99 for it but i had to go to another store to get it replaced, after going out of my way to get to the store, i met the manager and originally he seemed a nice person but when it came near the end of the transaction he started to insult me, saying things like "I cant believe you rang customer services to get this issue sorted out where did you get the gaul to do that?" and "now sir my name is on the receipt here so if you want to make a complaint against me next just look at the bottom of the receipt and quote my name i will be waiting, you know sir this isnt blockbusters you know so dont try this again" "wow you traded in the witcher 2 what was wrong with it, let me guess you just didnt like it right sir, am i lying ? come on sir your lying now, while giving me a sarcastic look."
this was the manager now, while to 2 moron minions where laughing at me behind the desk while the manager insulted me.
heed my advise DONT USE GAMESTATION EVER!

Worst Company Ever
Wonder why this company is struggling. I was starting to use GameStation to supply games for me (could of been a start to a big partnership) because there prices were good but the first order was a nightmare, got a cancellation email and no emails back, no phone line support at the weekend and now I got to explain to one of my customer's that they cant have them game which will ruin my 100% positive reputation. Zavvi is a lot better and will be just using them.
I Tried To Order From Them Four Times... Each Time
I tried to order from them four times... Each time I managed to do the checkout thing and got an email saying the order was placed and awaiting confimation, and every time I got an email a day or two later saying the order was cancelled, with no explanation.
Every time then I had a look on the website and saw the games I ordered as available... I really don't get it.
I send numerous emails regarding that matter and got no answers... they have interesting prices but i'm done with them.

after seeing the troubles that game and gamestation had i decided to try and cash in on some vouchers people had bought me for Christmas, as i had not yet used them. However when i went to the site i was told they were not currently accepted which was really annoying especially as they have shut like over half of the stores so it involved a large round trip for me anyway.
All in all not happy with this place, its priced much more expensively than online, its no wonder they have gone into administration and are stuggling.

New Disc Scratched
Went to Gamestation today and purchased a brand new XBOX 360 game. The game they gave me wasnt sealed, they simply got the disc out of one of the drawers and put it in the box. I paid and left the store. I then opened the box and there were scratches on the disc. I took the game straight back and told them. The assistant said its just dust, even though I had wiped the disc and they were scratches. She put the disc in the machine they use to take scratches of discs. I left the shop and looked at the disc, there were still scratches. I took the game back in again. This time I dealt with the manager and he said theres no scratches even though you could clearly see there was. I asked for an exchange and they didnt have any more copies. I then asked for a refund. The manager looked mad but gave me the refund. Maybe i'm picky but if you are going to pay for a brand new game you expect it to be in mint condition not come with scratches. I went and bought the game from Game.
