Information People Should Know! Please Read.
Do not use this store card ! In using 25% of your credit on it you are negatively affecting your credit score, if you use over 50% it’s even worse! This is something they don’t tell you! “Spend over £50 and get 3 months free interest” sounds great until you look at your credit score later down the line and you’ve taken advantage of that offer but ended up harming yourself by using it. DONT USE THIS CARD. IT DOESNT MATTER IF YOU PAY IT BACK ON TIME JUST USING IT WILL KILL YOUR CREDIT RATING.

Underage
My daughter and her friends were signed up for a new look card in the Bristol shop.
My daughter is 17 years old! At no point did she have to show proof of age or her identity. No explanation was made as to what the card was or interest or repayments!!!
Staff training is seriously lacking and i suggest you retrain all the till staff or make sure they understand what a store card is!
I only became aware of this as she had a letter yesterday saying she owed £17.11 and if she missed another payment it would go on her credit history. She said that she had made a purchase of £5.00 in July?
I went into the local New Look but they weren't very helpful. I am at present ringing the helpline.
If you need a store card to shop at new look then you really should not be shopping!

I highly wouldn't recommend to get this card as they charge a fee of £12 if you do not pay on time! What a ripoff I really regret it
But they tell you this before you sign the agreement and you also have 14 days to change your mind

Discusting!!
So i had brought £150 worth of things on my card. I pay it all off next month then I ordered something to online to go to the store. I knew it would be put on my card. You have 10 days to collect your item or then return it and it is meant to come off your card.
HOWEVER.. I rang up and said I don't want it the lady said that's fine when the 10 days is up we will just cancel it off your card. 40 days later o get a text saying you have been charge £12 extra on top of your £25 for not paying. THEY HADNT RETURN IT NOR TAKEN IT OFF MY CARD.
THIS HAS NOT JUST LEFT ME DISTRESSED BUT HAVING A BAD CREDIT RATING!!!!
I only got the card to get a credit rating for my mortgage.

Excellent Service All Round
I've had my new look card for 2 years now in the beginning I missed a couple of payments and yes got charged my own fault not theirs but then to save missing payments I simply just set up a direct debit for the full amount and by doing so I don't get charged interest and never miss a payment.
All the negative reviews of late payments and not receiving statements are all avoidable as you can set up payment for the minimum each month or even pop into any store and pay of weekly no limit to the amount you can pay off in on go.
Handy card to have in your purse just wish you would get more money off incentives

Ikano....New Look card.
Chasing me for a debt that I have payed off before I left UK couple years ago. Paying through the phone, talking to a robot I had no reciept email or any kind of confirmation. Only prove I paid it's my bank statement. Only thing I could do was screenshot my online banking account and send it to them. I'm in the States now...imposible to do anything else.
Was the most stupid idea I could ever have. So usless. For some clothes you get yourself in debt. Really?
I don't recommend it to anyone!!! I wish I have read the reviews before I did that card. Read all reviews!!!!

It's A Store Card People Not Free Money!
I think the majority of 1 star reviews here are either from young students who have just embarked on the 'real world' or people with less brain cells than a flea.
It's a store card not free money. You can't go and blow £100 on the card then moan hour not being treated fairly when you've not paid it off on time and then they are phoning you for the money YOU borrowed off them to feed your fashion habit, and they are causing you 'undue stress' when in actual fact it's yourself that has caused your own undue stress by taking out a store card to obtain credit for clothes you obviously can't afford and then refuse to pay for them because you have no money.
It's simple. Don't sign up for a store card unless
1. You know all the facts, you have a mouth, you only need to ask. You have eyes, you only need to take 5 mins and read the contract. You wouldn't sign an unread contract to some random person off the street for anything, store cards are the same.
2. You know you CAN afford to pay it back, whether it be in one or instalments. If you are only taking home EMA from college or have a student loan, a store card is NOT for you. If you have a part time job with little income, a store card is NOT for you. If you have less than £50-£100 SURPLUS wages after everything you need to pay for each month has been paid - it's NOT for you. If you have enough extra cash floating around each month but need a card to grab something here and there and pay off at a later date and you know you will truly be able to - this card IS for you. It's that simple.
Get your heads out of your backsides and stop blaming companies for your own stupid errors of judgment.
Now onto the card itself. I have had the card for a while now. I work full time and have my own business so I was confident I would be able to pay it off, but there are times when I'm walking through town or online and my banking hasn't been done etc so I have that there to grab a little something for me or my kids should I fancy it. The card is super easy to use both online and in store, and my statement come through around 3 weeks before the payment due date via e mail.
I don't rely on this though as we all know sometimes technology fails us, so I set a reminder on my phone every month to pop online and check the dates and balances. Simple.
I pay around 4 days before the due date, the payment takes around 2 days to be processed onto the account. Never had a problem with that and the online system is simple to use.
When I'm not online, or I'm at the store, I make a payment to the cashier also and that is simple and again the payment shows within 2 days.
Nice simple card to use, you can request smaller credit limits if you don't trust yourself, and customer service seems fine on the odd time I've locked myself out of my account online!
Not a card for anyone not in a stable enough job or for students so I do agree it shouldn't be aimed at them, I got into enough trouble as a student with store cards so they should definitely be aimed at people from upper 20's and over, or they need to push for the younger ones to really understand what they are signing for (altho by that age you should be able to read and understand a financial contract otherwise you have no business in signing up for something you don't understand - life lesson learned there!) but all in all if used correctly, the way intended, it's a good card.
Apr is high, but that's standard for store card credit facilities.
Whoever said it was free money you stupidious person. I had the store card paid it in full every month yet ikano wanted interest,so you tell me as you seem to be full of knowledge, how that works?

I Don't Understand How It Works
I was offered this card without a proper explanation of how it worked. I thought it was a points card. I didn't know stores did credit cards. I am very young. I am scared I am I debt and don't know about it.
Your grammar is appalling,go back to school
Q&A
Can you pay your store card in any of the New look branches?
I applied for a New Look store card one week ago. How long before I hear to see if I have got one?
How much is the start off credit limit on a new look store card?
I have forgot my memorable word for my account. What should I do?
I'm panicking so much. I was tricked today into getting a store card, the cashier literally pressured me into getting one. If I don't use the card at all and just forget about it, will I have to pay for anything for the card?
I was in a similar situation, I also got pressured into getting the card. They made me think it was a rewards card not a credit card. When you first open the card it is likely that they will have put the item you took to the till onto your card so make sure you pay this off, you can do this online with ikano or in store. Once that is cleared you will not have to pay anything else for the card. However I phoned up ikano who run the card and got it canceled just to be on the safe side.
