I bought my TR3 as a piece of junk for $400. It'd been some kind of a race car. I fiddled with the engine and got it working. Then I botched up the body with putty and got the cheapest paint job I could get. I reupholstered the seats and placed new carpeting. Did a few other cosmetic things. Finally, I had an interesting car for about $2000. I drive it daily to work for 2 years without any problems whatsoever. Cons: the back end twitches around corners. Steering is difficult at low speeds. Steering is a bit scary at high speeds. The wind really blows onto your head with the top down.

The Triumph Tr3 2138 Is Just About The Perfect Cla
The Triumph TR3 2138 is just about the perfect classic car. No, they are not practical but that's not why you run a classic.
They have plenty of power and torque. With overdrive they have seven forward gears.
The cut-away doors give such a great driving experience.
They are so rugged. Mine has done several historic rallies and never let me down.
