The Swan, Monks Eleigh

Always a wonderfully warm and welcoming greeting at The Swan, Monks Eleigh and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. It's lovely to have a pub so close to home with fantastic quality food with reasonable prices and a great selection of wines.

The seafood is particularly good and as with all the food, it is local and seasonal. The staff were really good and attentive and we didn't feel rushed. We know we can go here and always get a fantastic meal and friends have been really impressed too.

A great place to eat and must not be missed!

We have just had our end of season presentation dinner at The Swan. The evening couldn't have been better arranged. The seating was well laid out in the main area and the table decoration was excellent.We used the set menu which offered excellent an meal at very reasonable prices.The service was excellent, the food hot, fresh and beautifully presented.I highly recommend this venue for such events - we shall certainly be back!

A very walm welcome at The Swan, Monks Eleigh in lovely surroundings, a old thatched Pub/Restaurant with a lovely modern contempory interier, a varied well thought out menu and food to die for would highly recomend a visit

Atomsphere at The Swan is warm and welcoming, the wine list is thoughtful choosen and food is excellent.

A place to sit and enjoy good food - the service is good but not in your face and there is no feeling that you are been rushed or encouraged to finish.

We will be returning very soon.

My god what a dull pub The Swan, Monks Eleigh is and average at best give this one a miss far better food offered at pubs in other villages near by.

I had read great reviews about this place, and heard that they produced some superb dishes, but the food was average at best - I've been to other pubs near by that provide better food in my opinion.

Set in the lovely village of Monks Eleigh (just outside of Lavenham) the Swan is a welcoming restaurant in the building of a former pub. Inside there's a cosy atmosphere and a smiling face to greet you.

As you walk in there is a seating area where you can have a drink while you browse their wall mounted menu boards. It's a very relaxed, nice way to choose your food (however, I don't think it's what some people expect for the price). The dining room is comfortable, small and intimate.

The menu is well composed, and offers a good variety of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The food quality is always of a high standard (and worth the cost).

What else can I say? To summarise, The Swan is a lovely little restaurant, offering a huge variety of food at a fairly reasonable price.
