Masa Restaurant Wine Bar, Derby

I recently had my wedding reception here - they couldn't have been more attentive and well prepared. The meal was fantastic and a great eye for detail. The wine was also superb.

Masa Wine Bar is one of the best restaurants in the region. If you want to impress your guests, then this is the restaurant to take them to. I took some overseas clients (French) there and they thoroughly enjoyed the food. The wine list is superb and good value, too.

I have visited masa on a couple of occasions, the first visit did not really live up to the hype, the food was pretty good but the service was quite bad overall, however i always give a place a second chance, i felt the food standerd was worse this time around, and now being winter the restaurant felt cold, I am aware Masa is independently owned so will not go overboard on this review the standards are far superior to the like of bistro pierre and other mass produced food chains, i was just generally dissapointed and expected more!!

Lovely restaurant, very different. Very professional service. Menu - great value for money - £18 three courses (lunch). Tasty menu, simple food, great flavours. Impressive. One of the nicest restaurants in Derby.

In addition to the bad points, we waited a very long time in between courses although the meal choices had been given to Masa Restaurant Wine Bar in Derby previoulsy, no explanation as to why we had to wait such a long time, very expensive drinks.
