I've Frequently Been To This Restaurant Over The L
I've frequently been to this restaurant over the last two and a half years and have always championed the service, food, decor etc etc. Unfortunately on my last visit there were some drastic changes to the menu. The menu was reduced significantly and there was an odd mixture of food. I ended up having the burger and was surprised to recieve in a seeded bun from a supermarket, Lovely home made burger but a little lack lustre and Mcdonalds esq, I expected alot more. The actual presentation of the food was also lacking to their previous high quality. I couldn't fault the service, price or the timing with the food, it was as good as ever. The decor is absolutely fantastic. What a shame that the cocktails were no longer on offer as they were always a novelty and fun thing to do after a meal. No fillet steak any longer either which used to be a great dish. I also asked for a peppercorn sauce and was flatly denied (quite a simple and non time consuming thing for a chef to make). No piano player either. Where did he go? It does appear to have had quite a shake-up and it does seem that saving money has been the most contributing factor.
Overall not a bad restaurant, just not as good as it was. I think I'll go elsewhere now which is a real shame as I really liked this place.

Just Had The £10 Two Course Menu Vegetarian
Just had the £10 two course menu vegetarian selection from Arlingtons. Fantastic food, in fact, best value food I have had for some time. I was impressed that the chef had taken care to produce thoughtful vegetarian food. A really good squash and lental soup, smooth very subtle spice and flavour. I also had a tofu thai curry which was excellent, the thai was home made therefore assured that it didn't contain fish paste as they often can. To finish I shared a sticky tofee pud which was lush, hot toffee sauce contrasted really well with the vanilla ice cream.

Food Was Very Good, Reasonable Portions And Well C
Food was very good, reasonable portions and well cooked. Decor very appealing - French style, good atmosphere. Staff polite and friendly.
Service was a bit disappointing. One hot starter came out, had to ask after 5 mins for the other two cold ones!
Definitely worth a visit. I think it still needs some work on co-ordination with regards to service.
