Rip Of On Parts

The Hoover does pick up very well and is great in many areas however the problems I have encountered are down to the extended hose which has split twice in 1 year. You think just get a replacement the hose replacement just for the hose is £94 which is disgusting all the other models are around £20-30 to replace. I think they know there is a problem so you have to keep replacing them but at £94 a go I would not recommend this Hoover. The hover cost around £300 to buy but you need another £190 per year to replace the parts not good .

Miele S7210 Upright Vac

Hi, bought this as a replacement for our old dyson [3 years old and fell apart], on the plus side it cleans much better than any dyson, the moterised brushes are super, the minus points are it is very heavy, and as others have said if you do not return it to the locked upright position it looks like it will fall over,i do not like the silly clip that is made to restrain the flex on the handle as it keeps falling out, so pulls on the flex,i was nervous about having a dust bag as these can prove expensive, but mine seems to go on forever, it is easy to switch off the machine when in use as the rocker switch is on the top of the handle, if like me you are an old wrinkly they are very heavy my wife likes the machine but finds it very heavy to use compared to the old dyson, so she prefers me to do the cleaning, it is possible to have it fall over if you are not carefull, so be aware put it back in the upright position when you stop [locked upright]build quality, good, suction exellent, long flex, fairly easy to use, very quiet, but it is heavy. miele s7210 is good and powerfull.

Has The Build Quality Of An Orange Box, Avoid

Truly dreadful product. Plasticy and feels like its about to fall apart every time you use it. The fundamental problem though is that it blocks easily and unblocking it can be difficult at best. It is quite likely that it will need to back to Miele for service just to unblock it.

The other major issue is that it falls over on one side or the other the moment you bring the handle down from the upright.

Changing the bags is not easy as you feel that the whole thing will fall apart.

This is an expensive and nasty piece of plastic.

Attractive, Efficient But Heavy.

I already have a Miele cylinder cleaner (because it has a quiet setting, i suffer from tinnitus) and now needed a new upright one for thick pile carpet. I checked the 'which' reviews and decided on the Miele yellow S7210.

This cleaner does a great job, as expected from Miele. It has all the settings you need-no superfluous ones just for show-all within easy reach & easy to use, even if you have painful joints like me: brush on/off switch, surface adjustor, and the pipe for the top of the skirting even has a handle, it just clips off the back (no pressing awkward buttons or extending pipes as in Dyson!) making it so much more manouverable, saving you bending down.

But the most important thing for me is the gentle start of that quality motor, the BMW of the vacuum world-no rattling plastic or cheap, loud screeching motor noise-almost a pleasure.

Almost, because this cleaner is heavyyyyyy, like i need both hands to push it up and down :-/ .....but, i wouldn't change it. It sucks all the cat hairs up and i need the excellent allergen trapping properties it has to try to reduce my husbands sneezing and believe me that's almost as loud as the Dyson!

I forgot to say that i also saved a fortune buying it from Domestics Direct at £189! (see my review on DD).

This Is The Second Miele I Have Owned, The First B

This is the second Miele I have owned, the first being a cylinder type which is 20 years old and still working well. I have always found the Miele Company to be very helpful and obliging. I have used Dysons in other people's homes and have found them very "numb" and poorly made, certainly not built to last like Miele. People have commented that the 7210 is very heavy but I have found this outweighed by the easy manouverabilty. I would certainly recommend this model, my carpets, floors, curtains, suite have never been so fresh and clean. I especially like the floor to carpet switch high on the handle so no bending when transferring from wood floors to rugs.

With 3 Cats, 2 Teenage Sons & A Footballing Husban

With 3 cats, 2 teenage sons & a footballing husband, I thought nothing could surpass a Dyson Animal. How wrong I was! Now I've got my Miele I'd NEVER go back to Dyson. The Miele S7210 beats it hands down for suction & ease of cleaning. The onboard tools are straightforward & simple to use & the length of the cable is more than ample. The vacuum & tools are very well designed - no fear of anything breaking or falling off & changing the bag is child's play & clean. No dust flying around anywhere. The only downside is the weight of the machine but, strangely, it's a reassuring weight. Something this solid is built to last.

Highly recommended.

Badly Designed Product, Having Bought This 18 Mont

Badly designed product, having bought this 18 months ago after 3 dysons, i am very disapointed. The little plastic bits at the bottom by the wheels broke off very early on. It's so very difficult to manouver due to its poor balance. For me the only redeeming feature is the suction which is far better than any other machine that i have used. Sadly mine has now packed up completely and i am waiting for Miele to collect it for repair. My less than one month old Miele tumble dryer set on fire the same day and when speaking to Miele customer services they seemed very suspicious, which has made me more angry!!!! I will certainlt think twice before purchasing any more Miele appliances.

We Purchased This Product 15 Months Ago Mainly Bec

We purchased this product 15 months ago mainly because of a good report in the Which? review. Although it cleans well, my wife and I have both found it quite awkward to use. The machine is very heavy and despite the pivoting handle it is not very easy to manoeuvre. Moreover the location and weak action of the on/off switch makes it all too easy to switch off inadvertently. We also experienced the problem of little plastic bits falling off the bottom which was very annoying. We are so disappointed with this product that we have now sold it and bought a cylinder type cleaner. I would not recommend this machine.

I Have 3 Cats & 2 Footballers So Am Frequently Vac

I have 3 cats & 2 footballers so am frequently vacuuming up chunks of dried mud & clumps of cat hair! Used to have a Dyson but the Miele beats it hands down. It's MUCH more efficient at picking up everything & easy to move from carpet to wooden floor to carpet with the flick switch on the handle. The long flex is great (no more unplugging from room to room). Yes, it's rather heavy but I find that quite reassuring - solidly built to last!

Highly recommended.

This Vacuum Cleaner Is Very Very Heavy And Totally

This vacuum cleaner is very very heavy and totally unsuitable for a modern home where manoeuvrability is essential. It DOES pick up dust extremely well but this is far outweighed by the difficulty I have had in moving it around. In fact I have had to purchase another cleaner to clean the bedrooms as I cannot carry it up the stairs!

Another issue is that the hose for the tools is very inflexible and short so this make them almost impossible to use. This is my second Miele and the first one (a cylinder cleaner) was brilliant. This is not. It must have been designed by a man!!

When reviewing a product such as a vacuum cleaner, users should keep in mind that someone's inability to carry the vacuum up a flight of stairs has nothing to do with how well the vacuum performs. People looking to a review for useful advice have no idea as to whether the reviewer is a frail, elderly 90 lb woman or a healthy 160 lb young person unable to carry a 22 lb vac up some stairs.

Additionally, an upright is not built the same as a canister to it's common sense that it will not perform the same as a cannister vac - it's apples to oranges. Uprights are great for single story homes; cannisters are great for both.
