Had A Dirt Devil Dd6114 Now For Over Two Years And

Had a Dirt Devil DD6114 now for over two years and have been pleasantly surprised at it's no-nonsense capability. A low cost brand that is as good as any I've previously used costing three or four times as much. Nice and compact and with the old system of disposable bags makes it far more hygienic and cleaner. Only problem I cracked the connecting pipe although it was probably due to my carelessness. Gaffa tape works wonders! Great little machine.

Arran.

After A Couple Of Years Using The Dyson Dc01 And H

After a couple of years using the Dyson DC01 and Hoover Vortex (both were shockingly apalling), I found myself vacuum-less due to both of these cleaners self destructing in as many as 3 years (18 months life span for each). Whilst in my local Comet store I came across the Dirt Devil DD6114 which was being sold for £40 (bargain I thought!), I promply bought one as I now live in a small apartment - thinking that all I needed was a no-frills all singing dancing vacuum. Upon opening the box I was suprised to the quality of the product - it's reasonably robust (more so then the Dyson anyway) for the tune of £40. Being a 1200 watt motor I was expecting merely acceptable performance, but how wrong I was about to be proved - it is an absolute beast. Whilst it is very noisy in use, the sucking power of this thing is absolutely incredible, and very consistent for a 'bagged' cleaner - there is no drop off in performance at all! And the tools are practical and easy to use. My only real gripe is that the hose is pitifully short - you would never clean your stairs with it (but I don't have any stairs to clean, so I'm sorted). In conclusion - for £40 you will not go wrong with this machine and even if it only lasts 18 months - it will have been a much better investment that the Dyson or Hoover ever were. The short hose is only a minor quibble - although comparison to the Dyson 'detachable wand' (which if anybody has used one will know is poorly designed and clumsy to use) - it's an absolute god-send.
