It's A Good Vacuum Cleaner, Powerful, Robust To A

it's a good vacuum cleaner, powerful, robust to a certain extent although after a year or so the vacuum motor housing started to break down, but it's the filters that let it down, the paper filters have to be replaced after every couple of times that you empty the thing, so i got a pleated cartridge filter which is the best thing to do but i found that a replacement was hard to find but overall good workshop vac.

I Have Now Had Two Wickes-branded Earlex Vacuums -

I have now had two Wickes-branded Earlex vacuums - same model, different badging. £34.99 in both case, and I spent another £7 on permanent filter to replace standard paper filters. Very good machines. As simple as they get. Very tough. Quite stable and a good capacilty. Killed the first after two years of very heavy use inicluding two house renovations. Eventually died after two days of almost constant use, cleaning out a very hot and filthy loft of a Victorian house - dust, wood chips, large chunks of masonry and plaster etc. Followed by the unblocking of two drains of 50 years-worth of fatty gunk. So bought another, which again has seen 2 years of abuse without a hiccup. The filter is not nice to clean, and if you don't need to suck liquid, then stick to the standard paper. Also, the cable's far too short, about 2m (Earlex, please make it longer), but apart from that, a great no-nonsense, do-it-all wet and dry vac. Strongly recommended. Available from Wickes and Screwfix as far as I know.
