Horrible Scruffy Caravan
we stayed in a bronze 2 caravan and lasted one night! It was so scruffy and either needed taken away or needed a serious revamp. Yes we stopped in a caravan that was pet friendly but that shouldn't mean that it was a total mess. The outside the decking had one seat so we couldnt sit outside together but we wouldn't of wanted to anyway as there was 2 broken plant pots on with weeds in and another full of tab ends! Inside there was wall paper whipped off, shower ran hot and cold so couldn't stay in the shower long, the cold tap for the sink was loose, the sofa was scruffy and was worn in 2 corners looked like a pet had been scratching it, the radiators the paint had flaked off as they were rusting and dirty, we got bedding which didn't even fit around the horrible hard and worn mattress luckily we took our own bedding and the cup and cutlery looked dirty and one window didn't close properly. The furniture was worn and some bits cracked . All in all it was an awful experience. We paid £199 and would love to get my money back

Auchenlarie...used To Enjoy Now I Don't
This park used to be friendly and family orientated. We used to go upto 5 times per year and was like a little piece of heaven just stuck in the middle of nowhere. The staff in the main reception were personable and we couldn't wait until our next visit. This has changed over the past 24 months and I no longer look forward to visiting and found myself dreading the trip. The staff in the main entertainment bullding are lovely however will be spending my money elsewhere in future due to the unpersonable reception staff who make no effort in making your stay enjoyable what so ever. In addition to this the man who is now in charge is not customer focussed at all. Seems to be happy for the fees to come in but will do nothing to improve customer service or satisfaction. Good points: Beautiful location, nice friendly entertainment staff, low cost on site food shop. Things to be improved : Variety of entertainment, management attitude.
Have Been To Auchenlarie Twice Now And Have Had A
Have been to Auchenlarie twice now and have had a great time both times. Caravan was in great condition and had Flat Screen telly, DVD player etc. Site has childrens entertainment as well as a proper pub which I havent seen in any of the Sun holiday parks! Beach nearby and plenty of Pubs/Restaurants nearby in towns such as Kirkudbright. Would recommend highly and will definitely be back.
Auchenlarie Caravan Park Kircudbrightshire. I Hav
Auchenlarie caravan park Kircudbrightshire. I have given this a 4 out of 5 as we can't comment on the entertainment as we didn't go to it and didn't eat at the restaurant on site, so feel we can't give 5 out of 5. We booked with the tokens from The Sun, The caravan was clean had a good view of the sea. the Staff were very helpful and friendly. half an hour after arriving they came to check everything was ok with the caravan we mentioned the kids bedroom door didn't close properly and within an half an hour someone had been and fixed it.There are rabbits running wild all over the park which the kids loved. The walk down to the beach is steep but our 3 year old daughter managed it, There were rock pools that the kids loved. We also went to two other beaches on at southerness which was shallow so good for our youngest. The beach at Sand head had lovely sand and was deep enough for my husband and son to go swimming in. If you visit Portpatrick give the restaurants a miss and go to the chip van over by the Lifeboats it has the best chips i have ever tasted. If your after a shopping holiday give it a miss as this is surounded by lots of little towns and villages a car is a must. Dunfries isn't far if you want clothes shops etc and if you love ice cream go to Cream of Galloway.
