Funchal, CS Madeira Atlantic Resort and Sea SPA

Hi All,

I stayed at this hotel during a 3 day short break during the End of May Bank Holiday 2010. Room was spacious and facilities just great. Located near some great restaurants. The morning breakfast buffets were good and they offer a Champagne Breakfast. Staff very polite and helpful. The pools were great but we didn't use the spa so can't comment on that. The hotel is 20 mins away from the Airport which is in Santa Cruz area. Please try and avoid taxi's if you can since they area expensive. It cost us 38 Euros for the taxi one way when a prepaid transfer will only set you back around 44 Euros. The hotel do a coach transfer which is reasonably price and also reliable. One thing I should highlight is the waterfront location of this hotel and the cleanliness. If you are keen on photography it is one of the best places to get some nice snaps for you album. They offer a small putting course within the hotel ground. The squash court, gym and indoor swimming pool is good. One good thing about the location is that everything is nearby. If you would like to see Madeira I would recommend you book day tours through "Strawberry World" which is based in Lido centre 5 mins walk from the hotel. It will cost you just 16 euro per person for a one day tour. You can either choose North and East or South and West. The tour leaves around 9.00 and gets back around 17.00. Cassa Italia again 5 mins walk from the hotel is a very good restaurant to dine. Overall we had a great time and I would recommend this hotel to all my friends.
