Hotel Isla Bonita

Just came back after a week at the Isla Bonita and I wouldn't bother going back. Rooms were dated with broken tiles and rusty taps. My friends room had a sink that was not properly fixed, very wobbly. The hairdryers weren't working and her bed wasn't fully made. I found a bug in my room and it still hadn't been swept up 3 days later. Mattresses were dirty old and hard. The staff looked worn out but mostly they were friendly. Mainly suited to families, children were up late watching the evening entertainment but for us it wasn't worth watching. We couldn't get a lounger around the pool as people laid there towels out on them very early. We were told this wasn't supposed to happen but it did. The buffet was a free for all, never again. It was too busy and we had the same food most nights, we couldn't tell what some of it was and there was no menu for you to look at. The food was average but not worth the fight. One other main point is the lack of lighting around the complex, it's very dark. The hotel did look nice on approach but once you get to the main entertainment area it resembles a prison, not pretty. Overall I would rate this as a 2/3 star but not a 4 star.

When I think of what we could have had for the same money somewhere nice, it breaks my heart....It was horrible, rubbish rooms, my bed had to be changed on arrival as it stank of smoke, the Receptionist said it must have been the previous occupants, I thought it was a non-smoking hotel!!! everything was such a rip-off, including the parking charges!!!dark, dank and dreary, caught in a 80 times warp!!!clean but so dated....the restaurant was a complete free for all, the head chef made one of his juniors cry on one occassion, on another I followed a chap with a camera photographing everything, muttering that he was going to get all of his money back if it was the last thing he ever did....it was no way a 4 * it didnt even make a 2 in our opinion!!!! never again...

We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Isla Bonita Hotel (5/6/12 to 12/6/12) in Tenerife - party consisted of Dad, Mum and 10 year old son.

The facilities were really good and the staff were very hard working, polite, friendly and helpful - the "Animacion" team worked extremely hard and were always available to encourage children (and adults!) to join in with the numerous activities that seemed to be going on. However, you were left in peace if you didn't want to get involved. The staff were polite and helpful, even when they were on their breaks (some of them didn't seem to get a moment's peace!)

The food was varied, tasty, plentiful and hot - we can't understand some of the negative reviews about the food. They had different "theme" nights where you could help yourself to a wide variety of different meals - including a Spanish night and a Chinese night. All of us ate extremely well during the week and we all ended up putting on weight!

The rooms were cleaned every day and the beds made etc - it was your own choice if you wanted to change towels, which you could have done every day if you wanted. The Hotel also provided "pool" towels which was a bonus. There was a good "airer" on the balcony so you could easily dry clothes off over night if required.

The weather, resort and hotel were all really good and we would not hesitate to return again.

We went to the Isla Bonita in July 2011 for two weeks, two adults and a 7 year old.

The hotel is looking a little tired however provides decent value for money. The accomodation is spacious and clean and the food choice is very good, always something to please most people on offer.

This is our second time at the hotel and we would consider returning again in the future.

You only have to walk down the street and look at the other four star hotels in this area to know this is not a four star hotel. You get what you pay for!Yes its clean but it is basic. Food/Entertainment are a matter of your taste some liked it some didnt . I wouldnt go back.

Hotel Isla Bonita is great hotel for the price. This year will be my third time back and there is nothing major wrong with hotel. The entertainment is basic but the kids seem to love it, so if anyone is thinking of booking it I say go ahead. I have no horror stories from here and 19 of my family go each year of all ages and they have no complaints either. The hotel is in two blocks with two large enough pools. Good times for kids club, entertainment every night. There is different types of food for everyone and plenty of it.

The hotel could do with a revamp and the rooms updating but it is to a very clean standard.
