Avoid At All Costs

I placed an order for a ps3 game on 15th April - marked NEXT DAY DISPATCH expected delivery 18 april, for my son's birthday

I waited in - as the item stated it required 'an adult to sign', and after several phone calls, was told my order had been despatched and i could expect in 3-5 days. Call 2 - informed up to 10 days. Call 3 - oh sorry, your order was cancelled you should have been told and have been refunded, and oh yes you should have been told when you called earlier as we knew then.

But it's not Tesco's fault of course, it's their supplier ....!!! RIDICULOUS

Never never never again. Amazon was £4 more, I will pay £10 more to not use Tesco entertainment ever again !

Still Waiting For My Dvd

Order Guild Wars 2 two weeks ago and I haven't received yet. In the item status, everyday it says that Estimated despatch: Next Working Day. But they never post the item. Very disappointed.

Shockingly Bad For Mp3 Downloads!

I am very annoyed with Tesco Entertainment! They do not know what they are doing technically (I am a technical expert/systems engineer by the way) and have a poor site with a very poor download service, you have been warned, DOWNLOAD AT YOUR OWN RISK!

If you wish to download an MP3, you must install the Tesco downloader, which isn't too onerous BUT they now require you to download and install Microsoft framework 3.5 AND Microsoft silverlight... There is no technical benefit to doing this, it is not faster or better. It will slow your computer and as it's Microsoft it will introduce additional security risk to your computer...

They seem to offer no other download method, customer service are not customer focused and cannot offer a solution.

Good luck if you dare to use Tesco!

Same Problem Today As Reported By Many Here. Five

Same problem today as reported by many here. Five tracks to download, need to update the download manager, but need to install silverlight (already installed) first. So - installed silverlight, "this version is already installed". So - uninstalled it, back into Tesco account, view my order, install silverlight - installed successfully. Still couldn't update the Tesco download manager. Called Tesco support - oh, needs to be an administrative account sir. It is. Can I log in and check sir? You can. Oh, it is an administrative account. I know.

Long story short, Tesco unable to help after about 45 mins on phone. Advised was my PC, nothing they could do, profile must not be totally administrative (haha) - use another PC.

Sorted myself afterwards. Downloaded Firefox, installed Tesco Download manager, got my tracks. Poor service.

I'm having a similar issue. Their website only says it supports XP and Vista, but I turned a blind-eye to that thinking that can't be right.

I use Firefox and have Silverlight 5.1 installed, but the download manager is looking for version 4.

In order to download my order I had to uninstall Silverlight 5.1 and install Silverlight 4 which is now obsolete, so I had to Google for it elsewhere. I was then able install the download manager and download my music. And all to save 20p compared to the iTunes price.... Now I know!

Had exactly the same problem with downloads as you - was using Google Chrome and when I installed Silverlight, I was given version 5, which Tesco's Download Manager doesn't recognise (it expects version 4 and won't accept anything newer).

For some reason using Firefox results in a different download being given to you when you click to install Silverlight, which contains version 4, which then allows the Tesco Download Manager to work!

How ridiculous!

Used Tesco For A Few Album Downloads Without Probl

Used Tesco for a few album downloads without problems...until they changed download manager to Silverlight?...now my month old order for one mp3 single won't download..followed prompts to upgrade manager etc etc..just get a blank window..over and over again..no error messages/info/explanation anywhere on site etc..very tedious..sometimes you just want a tune there and then and are happy to pay!! Won't be using again..for such a huge and profitable company this is completely unacceptable...and who wants to phone equally tedious customer services over 0.89p?..every little helps Tesco..not the customer in this case...LOL..LOL..0/10...

May 2011: Download Previews Don't Work For La

May 2011:

Download previews don't work for latest versions of any mainstream browser. I wanted to preview before downloading by Tesco support say:-

1. It doesn't work at all with Chrome

2. I won't work with latest IE9

3. It won't work with latest Firefox

I mean really! - are they serious about operating in this business? I'm off to Amazon or Play and yes, I'll even be happy to pay! Sorry Tesco - get your act together for goodness sake - you have the resources, use them!

Used This Tesco Site To Download Albums Before, Wa

Used this Tesco site to download albums before, was excellent, really fast and no issues or complaints...until today.

I bought 2 albums. Once purchased it asked me to download the new download manager.

It wont download! Keeps stopping at the same point each time! Even tried it on another PC with no luck.

So I'm now stuck with albums that I've bought and can't download! Not impressed at all by this! I love Tesco, but this has put them down in my books.

If they gave me the option to download or informed me about the new software before I bought the albums I could have looked into this before buying.

I just don't understand why they would change something that worked perfectly well before!?! Please just leave things alone!

Used To Be Great, Good Offers And Reasonable Downl

Used to be great, good offers and reasonable download time, but now it's upgraded the download manager, it doesn't work. Can't get it to repair, uninstall or do anything! Not an issue with XP or others already reported as I'm on windows 7 - just doesn't do anything. Hope I can get refunded cause the new download manager does not do what it says. Bring the old one back!

I First Came Across This Site And Started Using It

I first came across this site and started using it around 2007-2008 in the old days of DRM. The DRM itself wasn't the issue for me so much as the bit-rates that sites were offering and theirs were 192. One day they "relaunched" the site and I bought 2 tracks from them. When I downloaded them they had bit-rates of 128kbps and I was horrified as it was not mentioned anywhere on their site. I requested a refund but was refused because I had downloaded the files. Well I had to do know they were faulty. As a result of this I and my family boycotted Tesco (not just online) for an entire year.

I subsequently returned to the download site when they were now stocking 320kbps mp3s and they even showed the bit-rates prior to sale as per my request (because some were 256kbps). I used them because tunechecker.com indicated their prices at 79p for tracks that I couldn't find on play.com which was 70p at the time.

Had issues with their new downloader when there were missing tracks but on these occasions did not have any problems getting refunds on them.

Quit the site when one day found all the mp3s had been priced up to 89p.

Sadly No Longer Works For Me Since They Have Chang

Sadly no longer works for me since they have changed their downloading software. Suggest you do not use Tesco download until sorted. Their own engineers tried at length to help (three different people) But they could not get it to work either. Hope I can get my money back. Shame as it is good value has lots of tracks and used to be so good.
