Hotpoint Wd 420
Never really let me down apart from the poor door design.
The handle when pulled moves the metal bar inside the washer to release the door. the link is a flimsy piece of plastic inside the door, which mine has broken twice
To replace it if the door is closed, you have to cut around the door panel by the handle and jam a screwdriver in the correct place to open the door. The screws are inside part the door to take it apart. Cost about £45 for another piece of flimzy plastic and a new door skin.
ive sold mine and replaced it with an LG washer dryer, its fantastic. I have 3 more items by hotpoint. As soon as they give me any grief, im binning them. Hotpoint a trusted product? I dont think so!

This Machine Features One Of The Worst Pieces Of
This machine features one of the worst pieces of design ever. The filter is buried in the back of the machine, behind a panel. Its very difficult and awkward to access - completely ridiculous at the best of time and impossible if you live in a small space!
The machine will cost you extra time, money and grief to clear the filter- whether you do it yourself or plump for an expensive callout. I bought this machine and built a cabinet around it - now we have to dismantle the cabinet just to clean the filter. What a POS.
Save yourself time and money - don't buy a hotpoint (or an indesit - they're both to blame). Buy a machine with a simple-to-access front filter, like any sane person would design.

I Have Hotpoint Insurance For £7 A Month Whi
I have hotpoint insurance for £7 a month which pays for an engineer to come out 3-4 times a year and thats with me emptying the filter which gets clogged very easily. Luckily i have a VAX which sucks up all the water which the WD420 spews out. This machine does do alot of washing, but thats no excuse for the poorly designed seal, the drum's dividers falling off, the awful design of the fluff filter, the dispensing of water from all sorts of places and the noise of the high speed spin. Splash out and get a miele!

My Washer/dryer Is 2 Years Old. First Call Out Was
My washer/dryer is 2 years old. First call out was when I had had it for just 9 months and now am on my 12th call out. The washing section is fine but the drying is just down right ridiculous. For a start the stupid machine has an unaccessible filter, it is located at the back of the machine and have to call out an engineer everytime it gets fluffed up. It leaks from the door, drying keeps coming out of the machine absolutely sopping wet, literally wringing wet. Each time the engineer comes out they just defluff the filter, go away again and at the moment within a few days it happens all over again. Apparently because my policy is for repair only they just keep sending them out over and over again and wont replace it. I have a family of 5 and am totally and utterly pissed off with the machine and with Hotpoint who just dont seem interest.

I Cant Believe How Shocking A New Product Can Be.
I cant believe how shocking a new product can be. My old washer dryer was secondhand when i got it and worked fine for about 5 years until it eventually died.
The new Hotpoint WD420 has lasted about a year and a half but had problems in that time. It has tripped my electrics on several occasions and ive had water all over the floor more times than i care to remember. I definately wont be buying another hotpoint or indesit.

Having Had 4 Breakdowns In 12 Months For The Same
Having had 4 breakdowns in 12 months for the same problem, when it happened 2 weeks after warranty expired, expected sympathy from Hotpoint. not a bit of it! wanted paying to repair same fault. after much wailing and gnashing of teeth they decided the unit was a write off and replaced. worked for 13 months then failed. Hotpoint now dug their heels in and want me to pay them to repair. It is going in the bin. DO NOT TOUCH HOTPOINT WITH A RENTED BARGE-POLE.

I Bought This Wd420 New For £350 And 18 Mont
I bought this WD420 new for £350 and 18 months later it is going in the bin! After 3 months the electronics broke down and it refused to start a new program. It was under warranty so an engineer plugged in a laptop and reset it. Now after 18 months the electronics have broken again and its out of warranty. As its electronics and these parts are very expensive only Hotpoint can fix it economically under their "5 year parts warranty". However they will charge you a £100 call out fee or £160 to repair with a 1 year warranty. I think this is a very unreliable model. Also another electronic fault could develop at any time. So who knows how long it would last after that year! I have decided to bin it and get a Bosch washing machine instead as the dryer function was useless anyway!

I Found That My Hotpoint Wd420 Was Good Only For 2
I found that my Hotpoint WD420 was good only for 2-3 years service, I reckon it definitely needs to be insured at time of purchase.

A Great Washer Dryer For The Price But Probably Be
A great washer dryer for the price but probably best to make sure you get an extended warranty, as I've heard that washer dryers are more likely to go wrong than separate washer and dryers.
