Good Machine

Owned our Hotpoint machine for many years and has been very relaible, we have paid for servicing regular so maybe that helped in keep it running good. Had one breakdown, but that can be expected for a machine that is a few years old, only need a £20 part fit to make work good again!

This has to be the worst washing machine I have ever owned!

It broke down in the first year and has continued to do so every eight months or so ever since I purchased it in 2006. I have fortunately had a service contract but as this costs me £120 a year for cover I have now decided I may as well buy a new machine from John Lewis which comes with a free 5 year guarantee so will more than pay for its self!

The performance of the machine is far from good and the washing invariably come out dirty. In fact the last engineer advised against combined washer/dryers as he said they perform very badly in terms of wash and drying.

I will not be sorry to see the machine being wheeled down the drive to that big Hotpoint tip!!!

I Am Now Resigning Myself To The Fact That I May A

I am now resigning myself to the fact that I may as well buy a separate washer and dryer. The washer/dryer was supposed to free up space for a dishwasher, I now have to choose between dry clothes or clean pots and pans. Suggestions on a postcard please. I'll never buy Hotpoint, Indesit, or Creda again, despite having fridge, freezer and dishwasher already.

My Hotpoint Wd645 Washer Dryer Has Broken Twice -

My Hotpoint WD645 washer dryer has broken twice - once it completely stopped working and the second time it worked but was making a massive racket on spin - this problem took 2 visits by Hotpoint to be fixed. Fortunately both faults were within the 1 year warranty. I also have Tuesdays off work rather than take holiday as they are not flexible with the times that can be organised. I'm not sure if the drying problems of poor ventilation and creasing of the clothes are a problem with all washer-dryers or just the Hotpoint.
